he can work with some producers outisde of his circle.. or outside of hip hop entirely. that's a good start. or instead of just singing or rapping in the same two tones in every song, use different tones and styles that will excite and surprise his listeners. i agree he's a versatile artist, but that has only extended so far. time to try something new. that's what artists do when they want people to see them as having not fallen off. open your mind you f***ing simpleton

Didn’t he work with AXL? Didn’t he do MIA, afrobeat/dancehall tracks etc? He just did Greece now too. He’s also dipped his hand in the behind barz/Grime genre and plenty of others to mention but he’s always been trying his hand. I mean, him constantly breaking records shows that he hasn’t been falling off. When Drake was expanding wasn’t that the reason people were going at him for “appropriating” a specific genre for his benefit? I’m not attacking your own question, just posing my own one. Where do we draw the line between growth for an artist that can show he’s been able to experiment and appropriation?

i dont think its drake's fault at this point, he's a decent rapper and a great writer. He lacks the production. When take care came out it was revolutionary...still is but his newer stuff don't hit like that anymore. Dark lane demo tapes should have never came out. His worst body of work to date...

I just don’t think he has to prove anything to anyone at this point. I’m not sure what else Id want him to do either. We know his lane, we’ve seen him try his hand at other genres and have provided us some bangers but do we really need anything revolutionary at this point?

i dont really think he can do it so there is no point in him bothering. He should continue making whatever music he decides to deliver and hopefully a few of are good. I dont think he can drop an amazing body of work. Only one rap artist in the past decade has done it more than once..

Did you just call views a flop

It’s a great album but people still say it’s the beginning of his career decline to this day. I just think that song in particular wasn’t well received by the masses. And it’s a shame cause it’s one of my favorite songs by him

Also it’s funny how people call it safe or say they want him to do something different , but when Drake dips his toe in other genres they quick to call it culture vulturing.

  • Jul 10, 2020

Yea, guy is awful. It's easy to see now how his talent early in his career was manufactured

Can't believe no one caught on how much of a plant he was.

This is so funny cause actual full-time singers (Frank, Khalid, Bryson, Chris to an extent, etc) never change their actual singing style and yet y'all somehow don't have an issue with that but want Drake to change his style

Singing was always Drake's bonus, his rapping has changed, and overall his discog has so many different sounds. Nice for What, Best I Ever Had, Chicago Freestyle, MIA, Back to Back, and Headlines are all entirely different songs.

Y'all will never be satisfied with him and always find an issue. The fact y'all seriously still have the audacity to say he's done nothing different is some true refusing to give someone their flowers type s***.

nah lol always confused it with finesse.
    I prefer finesse tbh.
I think the thing is the topics Drake covers on every album seem the same. writing wise he's probably grown but the people who aren't into Drake feel like if you've heard one rnb Drake song you've heard them all
