I think it’s more just a better time for streaming and pure sales being more of a thing due to UMG being so behind him. Plus just a good timed / lucky release that avoided other big artists dropping around him.

It was a sweet spot where both pure sales and streams existed, to your point. It also was him coming off IYRT, WATTBA, Hotline Bling, Meek victory, One Dance as a pre-release single, etc. Crazy era
