  • Inspired by that complex uncut thread, what lines or thoughts from drakes interviews or acceptance speeches have stayed with you over the years?

Personally when he accepted the VMA in 2014 and said

“I want to dedicate this award to any kid that's ever had a long walk home by yourself. This is for you."

That’s always played in my head from time to time

"I am not worried about these other rappers. I'm not competing with those guys. I already know their hand, I know their move. I study everything. I am worried about the kid sitting in his house that wants to be better than me and all those guys."

The part in the Zane Lowe interview where he speaks about how his mom told him to control his emotions for the first 3 days before he reacts to anything.

Been applying that to my life ever since I heard it and I’ve avoided so many unnecessary arguments.

    That was the 2012 Vmas

  • I like this commencement speech one too, about him graduating high school at 25 and his commitment to always following through:

“I reached a point in my life where I realized there aren’t material things that can give me the excitement that I’m looking for. There’s a void in my life that I need to fill and I need to sit and think long and hard what that was. It was the fact that I had left a gaping hole in my story of following through.”

Its so interesting watching his Nardwuar interviews back to back. You get to see the contrast between him early on in his career vs Views era where he's the biggest artist in the world

Plus any interview with 40 is dope already. Would love to see a sit down interview with Drake, 40, Oliver just choppin it up about OVO, life or whatever
