Not entirely true. Commercial standing has always been a huge part of what determined who the big 3 were. Drake, Kendrick and Cole were also the 3 rappers of their generation who could put up the biggest numbers with their releases. It wasn't just about who could rap best.

That's what I meant by all around rappers. Skills, Influence, Popularity, etc... the Big 3 are the rappers with high marks in all aspects of being a rapper.
