The Watchmen show is a sequel to the original 1984 DC graphic novel from Alan Moore. It takes place in an alternate version of America where superheroes are outlawed in most of the country and Robert Redford is president. It’s the best show of the year and it’s not the typical “villain of the week” superhero show. It really hones in on it’s characters and themes and also is a commentary on being black in America. Truly phenomenal show. If you have no clue about Watchmen and don’t want to read the graphic novel, I would watch the 2009 film (preferably the directors cut or the ultimate cut with Tales of the Black Freighter spliced into the film). It’s not what the show is following due to many factors including the ending being different from the comic, but it’s a good watch if you want to understand a good chunk of the Watchmen lore before getting into the show. But the show is also designed so that you don’t necessarily have to know about Watchmen, but it helps if you do.

He can do anything lol. He’s basically God.

He’s mentioned in the show a lot and he’s in it but the show isn’t based around him using his powers to defeat evil or something like that... he’s not really the main character
