FreightAt this point I don't know if I even believe the reddit leaker that it's an all r&b album. Someone else on reddit also had the songs. Idk where they got them but it seems clear the first leaker doesn't have any sources inside the camp. Maybe just got the tracks from a discord server or something.
They've clearly done some amount of trolling regardless if they have legit leaks so I wouldn't take everything they've said as true necessarily but what we've heard so far is more R&B than rap for sure

omorahiThe most delusional part of me thinks that IF the album mostly R&B, he would drop it midweek cause numbers wonât be a priority for the album.
Why would he do that? Drake isn't dropping an album he's worked his ass off on just so it debuts at #2 or gets overshadowed by some other major release. This isn't DLDT that's a throwaway mixtape made up of leaks and demos. This is a capital A album.
Numbers aren't the main priority but they matter.

Take Care is considered R&B and everyone loves it. HNVM sound wise is extremely different to R&B, those snippets sound exactly like what people expect from Drake. HNVM doesnt
R&B to me means there'll be random rap verses, which is just spot on Drake. No one's expecting an album of crooning, that Okay song kinda proves that
I'm being reasonable. And I'm speaking on the assumption that it is indeed a full R&B album. Even if it's a full rap album, dropping on the same day as Taylor Swift is unwise because she will score the bigger debut easily.

I want the album to have the best exposure possible and not have to fight for attention from the several other major releases dropping around the same time, yes. Even if only for a week and mostly because of how lazy Drake is at pushing his own music. He'll drop the album and never speak on it again so at least, let it drop in a week when it can have as much impact as possible.
Y'all in here suddenly acting like numbers don't matter or Drake doesn't care about numbers at all like people aren't just waiting with bated breath for a Drake project they can celebrate as a flop.

Doesn't matter whether you care or I care. Drake cares. The label he has a deal with cares and that's all that matters. What's the use of rushing out an album this time around when he really doesn't have to, seeing as he dropped an album about 7-8 months ago?
Makes a lot more sense to wait for a week that's free (the earliest being sometime in August) and then drop. I think if he delays till then, he'll end up dropping in October or some other time in Q4.
