he knows what he wants to do. He knows what is still left to do on the album and when it’ll be done. He coulda easily made a date for September, October and announced a date ahead of time. It’s not really a “ suprise “ drop since he’s told us it’s coming but! What I strongly believe is we’ll get a “ my 8th studio album for all the dogs out midnight when we least expect it. Or! it’ll be the closing of one of his upcoming shows “ btw my album for all the dogs dropping tonight “

I know he doesn’t do it anymore. But now it seems like he can’t find the line between a build up and a surprise drop. Feels like he only does these questionable rollouts these days ever since scorpion and I think that’s all a fault to ye. Even with CLB. Obviously I can’t confirm but imo I feel like he didn’t drop it until 3am just to see if ye was gonna drop donda same night

Let’s be honest once we get to the end of Aug and no album is out well definitely keep waiting til it drops if it’s September or later

We’ve fooled ourselves into thinking albums announcements with no release date is the norm. No other genre does this. If drake is afraid of other people stepping on his release date it doesn’t make sense. He’s one of the two biggest artists in the world and will outsell anyone not named Taylor Swift. Taylor announces an album, a release date, and people stay far far away from it. The same would happen with Drake.

Yeah he doesn’t care about other people dropping. Drop around whoever bet it goes off. I don’t think other artists dates matter

It’s only in hip hop and it drives me crazy. Travis didn’t give a release date for like 5 years about the album he was promoting. I would just for once love a single, a release date, and album cover and then the album drop. Just one nice clean rollout.
