I agree but Drake is very detailed when it comes to his visibility and moves. He's gotten more lax, but clearly something happened that was completely a blind side hit (the Thug drop).

Then Utopia hit, and I honestly don't think Drake expected Travis so soon. The Meltdown verse was very very recent so who knows what Drake knew details wise about the album past that one song.

Now, it's a weird holding point. He might as well wait for summer to end then drop. I'd bet that's his thoughts now.

the only thing that makes sense to me is that thug dropping made him have second thoughts and decided to rework the album

he seemed ready to go but now it feels like pre-book days again

I don’t think it made him second guess the album because he’s been very confidently talking about it on tour until the last week or so. I just think Thug dropping forced him to push back & he just keeps running into every other major release which is probably why he wanted it out before the summer/tour.
