    Tick Tick Tick

This is as close to factually incorrect as one can get in something so subjective

At minimum, how can SFG and Take Care not be classic albums? Take your opinion out of it and it’s clear as day that those offerings shifted culture, shifted multiple genres, and are culturally impactful over a decade later.

How would that not be a classic lol

  • Misfit

there has to be some kind of sample clearance issue happening

Maybe not that, but something definitely altered the timeline

There’s no way he’d do the book scan thing, hint at it coming in shows, had that one insider say it was dropping before tour, and it still didn’t come

    S*** happens

They are in the minority with these opinions as time goes on, should just let them waste their energy

That "Drake has no classics" convo was popular in the early 2010s, but it's an uphill battle now, they just look stupid

Looking back at it take care is probably it but as for why people have these takes and don’t consider the answer to be take care

Probably because of songs like we’ll be fine and make me proud + if it’s the convo of “classic rap album” you have to kinda not count Marvin’s room take care doing it wrong etc

I mean if the albums people are giving as the answer are all from back then but we all acknowledge it was indeed a thing back then, Then what changed lol

You can say Drake has no classics, it's your opinion, but as time goes on it just holds less weight

It's like saying Drake isn't Top 10 of all time, he's getting placed in those convos more and more

It’s essentially the same thing as Bron before and after the 2016 GSW series

All the sins of him giving up in Mavs series, his overall finals record and all other criticisms thrown at him over the years erased by the 3-1 comeback + his general high level of consistency the same way the meek beef did that for drake not having that undisputed classic lol

Is your opinion that Take Care isn't a classic because it has We'll Be Fine and Make Me Proud on it?

All you’re saying is that people associate a certain soundscape and subject matter with classic rap albums which…fine I guess

But there’s no denying the impact that that album had in Hip-Hop AND R&B culture and it’s still a fixture within culture today undoubtedly. SZA just interpolated MR on Travis’s album

That is a classic. It’s literally withstanding the test of time, won a Grammy, shifted culture, it checks all the boxes. Ditto for SFG

They just think classics are supposed to look and sound a certain way and for me it’s like…just look at the impact that some of these drake albums are having / had

I have my personal opinions on drake albums

But take care and SFG’s Impact and relevance cannot be disputed to me

  • Aug 25, 2023

Don't give idiots the time of day. Drake has obviously created classics, and you would have to be musically ignorant to think otherwise. Even Fantano, who openly hates Drake, has stated that while he didn't like some of Drake's works, they are undoubtedly classics and invaluable to the genre.

  • Aug 25, 2023

Give some people a keyboard, and they automatically think they Rolling Stone magazine. You can admit you don't like Drake, and that's your opinion. But to say Drake doesn't have a classic album is objectively false, and this is when your opinion is seeping into objective facts.

Yeah it truthfully stems from Drake making pop music / radio hits for a lot of them

Every legend had crossover appeal from Jay to Kanye to Eminem to Outkast but the way that Drake leans into it doesn't sit right with them for some reason lol so they try to use that against him

Drake is a classic in both genres, those being pop and hip-hop. People cannot criticize Drake for jumping to other genres and praise Kanye for doing the same. I swear the double standard in the hip-hop game is hilarious to me
