I really think it’s going to get back to that NWTS concept. Concise and a mix bag of drake rapping and hitting catchy melodies on hooks. Probably 13-15 songs. That’s just my guess.
But tbh this is drake an we literally never know what’s coming 😂

Yeah

This is a dated way of thinking nowadays, staying in this mindset is like saying Travis or Playboi Carti aren't rappers
I think your whole point provides to how these albums did change the conversation for rap and how it's affected the evolution of the genre, not saying that's how we see things now mainly because those conversations took place and were elicited vis-à-vis said albums
Both immensely impactful classics, but I’d argue Take Care is more of an undeniable “rap” classic than 808s. While they both fit in that question of “what is a rap album?”, 808s does so simply because it was made by a rapper. Take Care does so cause half the album is a guy rapping his ass off on hiphop and r&b beats like Satan himself inseminated Hov and Wayne’s future rapping spirit into Sandra Graham’s stomach in 1986. The idea of a new rap guy doing this and blending these styles with such elite rapping - without largely being seen as lacking rap integrity, ie Kanye with 808s unfairly - is enough of a big deal and impressive feat to put Take Care in that “rap” classic discussion imo
Plus there’s just a good amount of modern rap classics on there lol
That's fine, I am just providing the common points of contention not really what my ideology on the subject matter is in and of itself
