Yup. Its all purposeful showmanship with him being careful to not say anything concrete. “I got an album coming sometime this year for yall” at the first few shows would’ve been enough. He should take his time but the bait and switches have been hilarious to watch though

I've said it before. He's Drake. He doesn't need to do any of that s***. All he needs to build anticipation is to give a release date that fans can look forward to. That's all Taylor Swift does. She announces a new album with a cover art and release date and doesn't say s*** about it till it drops and between when she announces the album and when it drops, all her fans are informed and are waiting in expectation.
Using every show to talk about "my album is coming soon" makes zero sense for someone like Drake to do. He didn't do that with Her Loss, Honestly, Nevermind, CLB, or even Scorpion or More Life, so what made him think doing it now was a smart move? He'll say/do whatever to get a crowd unnecessarily hyped and I'll never understand it.
This whole thing wasn't needed. Him announcing the album and saying it'd be out before the end of the year was all the hype he needed to build for the album.

What makes the most sense is to drop it mid October/before his bday . Pink Friday 2 drops Nov 17th so that would give for all the dogs a solid month out and plus the feature with nicki will give alot more buzz for her album
