But I don’t think people understand how much an artist’s name, brand and image actually effect how the average listener perceives music
This argument is stupid cause I could reverse that s*** easy and say y‘all Drake stans would s*** on the same album if it was made by Kendrick. Why create a hypothetical scenario to defend a project lmao? Also some artists are just vocally way more charismatic and more interesting so yeah I‘d probably f*** with "Ye" more if it was done by someone like Michael Jackson for example lmao

I didn’t seem to find one on my first (now second) listen thru
Isn’t there like 5 songs that use the word dog in the hook
Like 5 skits/interludes linking the dog concept together
And dog noises throughout the album?
Y’all gonna clown me but it’s as much a concept album a Sgt Pepper is. I’m not saying it’s a god damn narrative story album but it’s the closest drake has come to a concept record easily

There was a run from, like, 2013 to 2018 where damn-near anything he dropped warranted an auto-play, auto-revisit.
I just can’t help but feel like he’s been on auto-pilot now for about the last ~5 years. He can def hype a crowd but sometimes it feels like his stuff just sorta bleeds together, subject matter gets kinda redundant.
It’s, like, what IS there left for him to do? Heads may kill me for this but I feel like having Adonis completely derailed his phase of finding a Beyoncé and settling down… Like, that Pusha diss forever fueled him to keep going, for better or worse, but the direction at 37 just isn’t what I expected.
