e t10th listen, album is so f***ing fire. Had Her Loss above it but now I don’t. Man really dropped 3 banger albums in a row.
Glad he finally decided to make albums that aren’t for short attention span teenage memers again. The trajectory up from midpack CLB has been fire.
this album is like Her Loss but better with more versatility, will have more legs

shaleiroseI was just actually talking to my friend about that exact comparison.
With Future it’s a little different because he’s primarily just making turn up/trap music, so the lane he operates in lends itself to more ignorant content, and plus not many people are really listening to Future for his lyrical content anyways. But even Future nowadays has been catching some criticisms for his age nowadays when he has some truly outlandish lines that pop up now and then in his current music.
With Drake it’s different because he’s always prided himself on his songwriting and lyrical ability, and also from an audience standpoint people have always loved him for his emotional introspection and relatability. Plus, he holds himself to the standard of best rapper in the world/of all time, so there’s a different expectation naturally set for himself the further his career progresses.
We’re seeing his peers Kendrick and Cole mature and grow in their music both lyrically and emotionally as their careers & lives have progressed, but Drake is the only one who seems to be either stunted or maturing in reverse.
Yeah bruh s*** is wild I think the Benjamin button effect we are witnessing with Drake is just his problematic megastar quirk

Yeah plus the songs he already cut from it are some of his best IMO. I just hope we don't have to wait another year. I don't mind waiting for something good but he been teasing it heavy all year so it's making me anticipate it way more

Quick anecdote I took an Uber today and she was playing Fire & Desire and the contrast from that type of R&B he was making years ago compared to what’s on here was crazy to me.
