Hoping he takes as long as he needs, I mean mfer been dropping constantly since 2013. Lets see if he comes back hungry and refreshed, also would like to see the state of the game once he goes away
you could make the argument scorpion was though
I think Scorpion was when his music started to skew more negative and pessimistic, but he still was the peopleâs champ and had an absurd run that year of nonstop hits.
But CLB felt like the first project where he fully started to play into and embrace the villain role. Itâs also the same album where all of his songs about women started to become more cynical than they previously were

I donât want him back at all! This genre never appreciated his impact
How did this end up being more polarizing than Her Loss lmfaooo
Crazy thing is I think theyâre somewhat similar in sound and content. Her Loss being a collab almost took the pressure off and people were more accepting of a fun, modern project. The stakes are raised every time itâs a solo drake project (partly because he hyped it up too)
He saying he likes the album but thinks itâs far from Drakeâs best, says it feels lowkey meaningless and redundant, that itâs too long.
Thought the features were unnecessary and that he prefers the days when Drake albums had minimal features.
He also said heâs surprised that Drake responded in the way that he did to Budden, and said he hopes that Drake doesnât feel like heâs completely above criticism anymore
I actually agree with this all but instead of minimal features just features that are actually good
How did we go from Sampha, Alicia Keys, Jay Z to Yeat, Sexyy Red and f***ing Yachty

I feel like CLB had worse feats imo. Baby, Durk, Cudi and Ty all were ass

I just miss when Drake features actually felt like additions to Drake songs rather than Drake just hopping on the featureâs sound.
IDGAF couldâve been on a Yeat album, Another Late Night couldâve been on a Yachty album, Gently couldâve been on a Bad Bunny album and it wouldnât have made a difference.
Whereas songs like Lord Knows, Pound Cake, or The Real Her only couldâve existed on a Drake album

Yearâs feature was better than Hovâs last two features

Everybody phoned it on CLB, the names on here may not be up yâallâs alley but they came thru
some good moments on here ofc. but this isnât very good. lotta skips. a handful of big sean tier bars (knowing they gonna serve another citizen kane they think they orson welles)
also why sing about young women so much? like, do you, but why specify that s*** so much in 2023? s*** kinda weird.
and why diss Rihanna? the s***was average? like my nigga what??
Away From Home is fire.
How people consume music is wild to me. Drake is merging 2 generations that dope to me. He still give yâall his old drake in the rnb songs vibe

Couldnât have said it better bro

IDGAF was a yeat song that was previewed like last year
itâs literally drake hopping on a heat track

CLBâs features were really bad to me. Only ones I liked were Durkâs, Futureâs on N 2 Deep, and Ty Dollaâs
Yearâs feature was better than Hovâs last two features
I mean I canât stand listening to Yeat at all so thatâs that I guess

travis bodied fair trade
but yeah I agree
Bro is revolutionary
I donât know
I feel like I probably wouldâve enjoyed him when I was a bit younger maybe Iâm just an old head now
His music does nothing for me like itâs unlistenable
Watch people comeback and say the album is dope! I saw some people on twitter slam the project then said it was dope after 2nd listen

Great point. Drake kind of alluded to this in his clap back at Budden - being able to adapt and cater to different generations is why he has achieved this unprecedented longevity. If he kept the same sound as his early works he wouldâve fallen out of favour by now. Tapping in with younger artists is crucial for him to continue his run. And I think it sounds great anyway
Yearâs feature was better than Hovâs last two features
Jay didnât belong on both of those songs and it was blatantly obvious too
