This album is never going to be retrospectively liked. Finding 3 people on the entire internet who changed their opinions so far isn’t changing the narrative.

It was a phoned in album, no highs, songs don’t go anywhere, songs don’t talk about anything.

Tryna change the narrative on this album because you’re a fan is only gonna encourage him to approach the next album with this same s***. Not needed.

He gotta completely reaccess his musical purpose at the moment.

It was also kinda obvious this was going to be a mess when we heard Search & Rescue and Slime You Out. Two 4/10 songs that aren’t even worth mentioning in his discography. He thought those were standouts and would be a huge deal. He is losing touch.

At this point when he starts the next album era he’s gotta just drop loosies here and there and actually get a gage of the reception (like PAY ATTENTION and not just drop them ignoring them being clearly weak to everyone) then work off that. He cannot be trusted to just drop a full body album of 20 tracks anymore and only trusting himself as to the quality.

People just want Drake to talk to these b****es and what he doing, like he is a professor at a college or something.

Im not listening to Drake to be taught some s*** or want to hear how he tackles being a father. Like how would that be entertaining? People want him to make scare the hoes type music? That would definitely be time he will fall off, when he start doing that and listen to that type of "advice".

Drake is for the toxic, immature, fun, sad, heartbreak, in my feelings type of moments. Good and bad vibes, depending on the mood and situation. He got something for everything. The music has been at high level for so long, because he rarely makes a straight up bad song or a completely bad project, that some people just dont appreciate the greatness anymore. It has become "cool" to say you dont listen to him or like the music. It is just a personality thing to not be like everyone else and s*** on whats "popular". They dont feel special otherwise. It is really sad to live that way, but probably just reflects in other parts of their lives. They are just really insecure at the end of the day.

I think Her Loss and For All The Dogs are the two projects with the most entertaining Drake vocal performances in his entire discography

    Agreed.

If he did the last paragraph we probably would’ve never got Honestly Nevermind which whether ppl like it or not is probably his most focused album since NWTS

Drake needs a break. He’s run of s*** to rap about so he just sings about women and raps fake gangster raps now. Trash album.

This album somehow simultaneously makes an argument for his least substantive work to date and his most entertaining.

It’s insane how much I completely agree with this sentiment. Perfect way to sum up this album.

Feels mostly hollow and shallow all the way through but at the same time it’s such a fun listen

Yeah man the entire album feels like a guilty pleasure s*** is insane but I love it

So I’ve sat with it for a minute now and I think I can properly asses it. This album somehow simultaneously makes an argument for his least substantive work to date and his most entertaining.

I say least substantive because there is a lot of low hanging fruit here lyrically and musically and there is very little insight from a guy we would only assume has gained some wisdom in his decade and a half at the top. His refusal to delve deeper into who he is beneath the persona kinda makes it hard to connect with him.

I say most entertaining because every single track is addictive as f***. Str8 up. Every track may not be a creative spectacle but they all find their way under your skin and before you know it you’re hooked.

Drake is unhinged, blunt, and hilarious throughout, more so than we’ve ever heard him imo. His flows his delivery and his different cadences are also at peak levels on this project which adds a lot of intensity. There is a sort of visceral quality to his performances on this project that is really engaging.

Although the production doesn’t push any boundaries or move things forward at all it always serves as the perfect backdrop for the emotion or theme that Drake and company are attempting to tap into and overall this feels like one of his better produced projects.

Overall I like this project a lot and though I understand some of the criticisms regarding the immature subject matter I think the good far outweighs the bad.

    7.5/10

    I agree with this mostly

Aint that one of the reasons we listen to music. Listening to music is basically a guilty pleasure thing to do in our lives.

No, I think yall genuinely can’t comprehend that regardless of how he was talking the music was forgettable and weak.

People aren’t “offended” (outside the random small Twitter sphere). The quality is just WEAK.

Most people suspect the quality is weak because he simply has already approached these situations so many other times in the past. He is mentally drained. Forcing himself to write a book with no inspiration.

The idea of him maturing is rooted in the thought that maybe he will have some type of new inspiration or challenge himself to do something other than recreate a past song in worse quality each time.

    On the maturity thing

I don't agree that immaturity is rapping about hoes and money and clubbing or whatever, it's just how he does it that could be better

Older Drake used to delve a little deeper into the whys and hows, current Drake is skimming the surface more
