Whatâs the sample in polar opposites? The girl at the end
Yebba, drake posted on his insta story yebba you need to release full version now, then she posted a minute snippet on her insta story w regular vocals, idk if it went any further than that tho
Been listening to this repeatedly since Friday. Car Test, gym, at home, and....
Feel like this is a below average Hip-Hop album for Drake, but a very strong R&B album from him
8am, Away from Home, and First Person shooter are dope, but Calling For you, IDGAF, Another late night, Daylight, All the Parties, Fear of Heights are mid to pretty bad by drake standards. Like, I can't imagine we'll be talking about those songs 6 months, let alone years from now. This is where the Yatchy / youth influence has some credence, and not in the greatest of ways.
Not that those songs are 'bad' just mid to forgettable.
Conversely, this is some of the finest R&B moments on one project for him since Take Care, SFG. I feel like this is what "Old Drake" would sound like in 2023. Modern sounding, R&B Drake and he DELIVERED
-Virigina Beach
-Polar Opposites
-Tried Our Best
-Bahama Promises
-Drew a Picasso
-Amen
-Slime You Out
-Members Only
-What would Pluto do
-BBL Love
-Rich Baby Daddy
That's 11/23 tracks that are genuinely R&B / heavily melodic and I see this as far more of a R&B Drake album than Hip-Hop and like, those are the songs I keep coming back to. Those are the strongest songs on this record.
His buffet approach to making his flagship albums has once again reared it's ugly head. If you were to just take the R&B records, 8am, First Person shooter, and Away from Home you'd have one of the sure fire best if not THE BEST album in his catalogue but the lows are quite painful.
It's basically Take Care if TC was way worse with the Hip-Hop songs but slightly better with the R&B records IMO
I remember pullin' up at TAO, seein' Quincy Jones, nigga talkin' to me like he proud
I remember
I remember Mike designed the owl, then he sued the f***ing guys, and he duckin' until now
I remember
'Member Reesie stayin' at the house, then she left me for my dawg like she never took the vow
I remember
My cousin Ryan fronted me a pound and I couldn't even flip it, had to bring it back around
I remember
Lmao it's hilarious this is getting hate what an album
I am saying it his is best since Views

I definitely think these r&b tracks are more successful than what he tried to do with side B on scorpion
Just give it time, we'll see who's still around a decade from now

I think it just sucks thereâs such a great album in this project but too many unneeded records surrounding it. I donât get how many people heard this project before release and this was the final result.

Absolutely. He missed the mark on scorpion side B with the R&B outside of Jaded IMO
And conversely, the Hip-hop / rap side on Side A of Scorpion is MONEY. Virtually flawless to me.
It's like FATD is the reverse of that.

He just didn't land the plane on the bangers for this one. The records for the young niggas.
Daylight, Fear of Heights, Another late night, calling for you, honestly all 4 I think I could easily do without and if they had leaked before the album, I would pray that they didn't make it.
Not that they're "bad" but just...Drake is so great, there's no need to make mid like this. (Except the 21 joint, which isn't mid it's flat out awful. Ass. The worst song on any album he's put out deadass)

Love when yall post the lyrics like this >
Hit so much harder
I really liked how fun that Cole Bennet video was
Amazing. Captured the vibes of the song completely.
Polar Opposites is really the ultimate ending
A perfect track to put it away for a hiatus

Something about him rapping about his inability to flip a lb is hilarious
If the shoe was on the other foot and it was me, it woulda been guerilla war
Since you know I got a soft spot for you, this has turned into a civil war
Artists hittin' on you, broke as f***, I swear them niggas probably live in Singapore
The athlete that you rollin' with, I saw his game last night, he didn't score
F***, I gotta say a little more
Show you spots you never been before
It's f***ed up that we was goin' once and now you're goin' twice like a biddin' war
Why you act like just 'cause I go to the strip club, girl, that I don't love you?
You still listenin' to R Kelly in the whip, baby girl, and I don't judge you
I'ma end this s*** and let the 40 beat play before I snaaaaaa
In B***y Trap, throwin' more bills than your baby daddy traaaaaaa
