shaleiroseA 4 doesnât mean itâs unlistenable at all. A 4 just means that it doesnât totally work as a body of work.
Unlistenable is like 0-1 territory, Drake has never dropped a project that bad.
A 4 for me means that the project doesnât work from start to finish, and there are too many redundant songs or unremarkable songs that I wouldâve left off the project to make for a better listening experience.
In a vacuum, sure I might enjoy a song like You Only Live Twice or Fountains if they came on shuffle, theyâre not bad songs per se, but when Iâm judging the overall body of work as a whole those two songs and a handful of others bring the album down for me and detract from it being an enjoyable experience from start to finish
I get what youâre saying but your scale is wrong. 4/10 is an objective failure and not close to being good. This is saying out of a 21 song album you like roughly 8 of them and dislike 13 of them. Thatâs a totally unlistenable project if you have to skip 2/3 of the album. Even if you think 5-6 songs are redundant thatâs still a 7.5/10.

On CLB, there are 9 songs I would remove completely. There are 7 songs I absolutely love, and then the remaining 5 songs I like, but I would tweak them in certain ways to make them stronger tracks.
With there being 12 songs that I enjoy listening to on the album, the entire project is not unlistenable for me. Itâs just that, of those 12 songs, I only adore 7 of them, and the other 5 I do like but I would not consider them some of Drakeâs strongest work. Combine that with 9 entire songs that I would remove completely, and thatâs how I arrive at a score of 4/10.
Like I said earlier, how I judge an album is more than whether I just think a song is good or bad.
There might be a song that I do enjoy, but then I weigh that song on a 0-10 scale on how much I enjoy it. So even though I like around 12 songs on CLB, only 7 of them I thoroughly enjoy and consider to be great songs
