Let's not forget that Drake wrote Fall For Your Type for Jamie Foxx.

You would think by now people knew what using writers actually is.

    There's levels to it.

There's the "I don't write s*** I just track the vocals of whatever demos I have and like and release it"

Then there's the "I'm going to write my s***, listen to the Demo, and depending on what I like from the demo, put the two together. Or maybe I just like the idea and flow from the demo, and I'll take that and use my own lyrics"

Drake (and literally everyone else in the industry) is #2. How y'all hear 5am, 5pm, 2B1S, 9am, Do Not Disturb, Is there More, along with records he's written for other people like Fall For Your Type, I'm ready for you, etc. and come away thinking he's some vanilla Ice rapper who don't write is beyond me. It's pure ignorance.

The only thing that is fair to say is that he doesn't write ALL of his stuff ALL of the time, which would be true but penalizing Drake for that is a slippery slope.

    NWTS MICK

Yeah, cuz 10 Bands and Know Yourself are super complex lyrical exercises. If anything the parts in those songs that you can tell are written by Drake are by far the superior verses. Those are also the lowest quality writing on the whole tape. The writing on the next 3 projects is unbelievably higher quality than most of IYRTITL. Scorpion writing dwarfs that project, the production isn't as quality but the writing is WAY better.

BTW "1800 then I kill the p****, who can relate?"

Sounds like your boy could use a writer...

Yeah you right here. Also I was a QM stan and it's so obvious that he wasn't nearly on the same lyrical level as Drake. Drake worked with him for the sounds and ideas QM brought to the table but not his actual lyrics. It was more just songwriting and melodies.

I mean I'm sure he wrote some lyric but this notion that the stuff he wrote is better than the 3 projects after is honestly hilarious. He's credited so we can see which tracks he worked on and they ain't You and the 6 or 6pm in New York or No Tellin'. Just like how Abel is credited on 2 songs that he doesn't have vocals on and one of them is literally a remake of a classic song so it was probably for writing the melody. But the narrative is that he wrote half of Take Care which is obviously false if people would just look at credits.

The writing (not ghostwriting because they are credited) narrative is probably the thing that irritates Drake the most in his career. Not Push because most of his diss record is embellished, we figured on here that Drake has mentioned his mom on every project and he has made fun of his dad throughout his entire career. Also, I've never heard it mentioned that Push didn't want Drake going at Ye but then spent his whole song going at the people in Drake's life. Kinda hypocritical if you ask me.

Probably the only thing that irks him as much as writing narratives is the way Ye, someone he looked up to, doing him dirty throughout his career.
