Like how Ye was to Hov
    Or Cudi to Ye
Or how he was to Wayne

He’s entering his legend phase officially in my opinion. Ever since he dropped Care Package that’s been solidified so it’s about that time. I think it would really add to his career. Plus think of the type of artist he could train. It would be glorious

Bruh The Weeknd went traitor and PARTYNEXTDOOR too anti-social/fame.

He struck out on two of his potentially most perfect successors. I'd say the protégé thang just ain't in the cards for me and keep it moving at that point.

There's not an artist out right now that has the potential to be better than him or matching him. When that artist appears, I'm sure Drake will mentor them.

That’s not the point. He’s eventually gonna retire and having someone carry on his work not only guarantees his longevity but solidifies him at that master level. Get him on his sensei Mr Miyagi type s***

    The Weeknd?

He didn’t want to be that guy. Has to be someone that is cool with being in a student role. Same way he is for Wayne

Ye doesn’t carry on anything Hov did
    Drake’s music isn’t anything like Wayne’s

I heard about them. Hov been one of my favorite rappers for years. Hardly any of them sounded like they were worthy of being "the one". He isn't a good example because he probably the best at finding/nurturing protégés.

Bleek, Cole, Ye, Rihanna.... He almost had Wayne too and he basically co-mentoring Meek with Ross. That track record incomparable.

Even if he has one they’ll be nothing like him. There will only ever be one Drake his records will be real hard to break. Not to mention to reach the popularity and fandom he has it is extremely rare.

Wayne had the same grip on the game Drake does. Drake just kept it up longer. His protege would have to be someone who could improve on what he’s done. They’re big shoes to fill but it can be done

And Jay is a legend. Passing the torch and retaining your master status is just a necessary step in my eyes

Give it a decade... we'll see by 2030..

  • Dec 25, 2019

Maybe his protégé will be British.. 🇬🇧 🤔
