Said it before and I’ll say it again, Drake needs to develop a serious heroin habit before recording any more music. This would be the best possible career move for him.

He would produce a deranged, dark, d***ged out experimental album that would be praised. He’d give grizzly accounts of life and the situations he gets into while being a fiend, and hustling pills on the side to fuel his addiction as people begin to distance themselves from him. Soon it would come out about his addiction and the media would be buzzing. Scandal after scandal would arise and he’d be the most talked about person in the world as he continues down this dark path of addiction and insanity. Then, he would get arrested for possession and do a stint in jail, adding credibility to the hard image he’s been trying to adopt for sometime. The #FreeDrake movement would be like nothing we’ve ever seen before and it would spark an international conversation about how we treat addicts (rehabilitative vs punitive punishment.

Drake would get out, get clean, and become the face of the opiate epidemic sweeping North America, opening him up to even wider audiences and platforms. His first album after release would sell a million first week and be praised, as Drizzy explores a whole new realm of lyrical content reflecting on his past degenerate behavior and becomes a symbol of hope for millions dealing with addiction. This would be great for his image, solidify him as one of the greatest rappers ever, and create worldwide change that benefits millions for years to come.

The best possible thing drake could do for his career is to start doing as much dog food as possible, as soon as possible.

I agree with OP, and the remarks on his musical output this year. He hasn’t been as cohesive and strategic as we’ve known him to be in previous years, and the beef seems to have made him act more out of character. In addition to this, there’s the elusive Universal deal, which I feel has also been a huge driving factor to his seemingly impulsive musical output this year. He seems to be under an immense amount of pressure and I wonder how he’ll bounce back from this one because randomly releasing music fortnightly (for free for that matter) doesn’t seem to be making things any better.

    Another horrendous thread

  • Durag Jesus

not even trying to diss but every single record he dropped in the last 5 months has been irrelevant and pointless.

Drake can do whatever he wants and isn't going to take advice from a bunch of nobodies on an internet forum.

The guy clearly likes making music and is not going to stop. Maybe it's the people who keep saying he needs to take a break just need to stop listening to him then. They don't have to listen to every new song he drops the second it drops. Maybe have some self control and don't listen to Drake for a while. No one is forcing you.

The issue I have with these threads is people are acting like they know what's best for him when he's been one of the biggest artists for the past 15 years. I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing at this point and he has surrounded himself with people who have helped elevate him to this level.

None of us know s***. We don't know him, we don't know the industry, we don't know what's best for ourselves but somehow we know what's best for a billionaire rapper who has already cemented his legacy as one of the best to ever do it.

I just ask, for all the people claiming Drake needs to take a break, why can't you just take a break from listening to his music?

I agree with OP but I don’t disagree with you neither but what I will say is all these “momentary vibes” he keeps dropping does take away from his creative depth…his music was way more breathtaking earlier in his career

    so much pain

I’ve been a Drake fan for a very long time and was hardcore for a while but the backlash growing against him has been pretty justified and understandable

Who knows if he’s really like Kendrick said but he had to chill talking about young girls the way he was, mans was literally bragging about it on the song Calling For You it was getting to be too much

“The girls I f*** are so young they don’t know the classics” is nasty

His attempts at really rapping have been getting stale too and the way Kendrick outshined him in skill easily and his own gross personality coming through on his disses I think he should just focus on improving his singing again and finding fun ways to reinvent that

Bro he didn’t say that. He said, she was 21, so she don’t know the classics. Last time I checked 21 is a full grown adult.

We calling this illegal now? Wtf are you guys on

Drake's just building up hype for the PND album.

It's like how he dropped SH2 before CLB dropped.

Only difference is that the loosie songs aren't really making the buzz that they used to which is throwing him off.

For comparison, the songs off SH2 all hit top 3 on Billboard with no pop appeal which helped drive some hype for the CLB rollout.

These newer loosies are okay musically but the buzz just isn't there anymore.

Brother. These dropped on Instagram and then dropped on streaming a week later. Scary hours immediately dropped on streaming.

Like what are you talking about? I feel bad for you

and to build on this - i think we can all agree this is the most motivated he's been in a long time...probably close to a decade at this point. why the f*** would he waste the motivation he has, just to take a break when it's only the people who dont f*** with his music that want him to do so..thats even more motivation, so go find some music you like while you wait for your favorites to drop

everyone has braids and dresses like drake now for one

Crine, Drake was actually late on the recent braids trend. Everyone been had dreads/braids for years since they seen Killmonger in Black Panther

  • Aug 24, 2024

I got dreads in 2016 because I seen J Cole rocking them. I get what bro saying, obviously dreads/braids have always been a thing but they've been SUPER popular over the last few years. But that was way before Drake started wearing them. He hopped on the trend, he didn't start it

this can't be the man that did all these hits in one year (2018):
    1 N.E.R.D - Lemon(remix),

    2 Quavo - Flip the Switch ,

3 Migos - Walk it talk it ,

    4 Blocboy JB - Look Alive ,

    5 Lil Baby - Yes Indeed ,

6 Lil Baby and Gunna - Never Recover ,

    7 Bad Bunny - Mia ,

8 Travis Scott - Sicko Mode,

    9 2 Chains - Bigger Than you ,

10 French Montana - No Stylist

Putting lemon remix #1 was slick I see you

Braids came back in style around 2018 when everybody started doing the sides shaved+braids on top combo. Drake ain't do s***.

    !!!
Killmonger really the reason for it. Drake a few years late, insane to give him credit for it. And Billie Eilish been doing the baggie clothes s*** for years
