Conceptually this is pretty weak. Why go IMAX and shoot exclusively studio/indoors? Also black and white for a song like Nokia doesn't make sense. And if you compare his energy with Hotline Bling video - same type of song - it's a pretty stark difference. A lot of build up for something quite vapid.

Apparently, now, Kendrick is the first rapper to have a bunch of female dancers in a music video lol. Even she Shai/DeMar s*** is a reach. Drake has featured multiple NBA players in previous videos (KD in LNCL, Kawhi in Way 2 Sexy, etc).

There are references but suggesting the Nokia video is supposed to look like the NLU video is a massive reach on its own.

I didn't say there's no reference at all but saying the whole video is supposed to be like NLU is wild especually since most the evidence listed in that thread was just off it being choreograph

Video might not be what most people wanted but that doesn't take away from the fact that its a clean, well-executed video with lots of great shots. It's simple in its effectiveness and that's why it works imo.

Its Kendrick fans suggesting that him even having black female dancers in the video is him biting off Kendrick lmao. Can't take them folks seriously.
