when @Campari said unprecedent format i had a feeling it would be IMAX

Yes! did he announce it? I also know it’s going to be in black and white, and some portions are shot on those new Hollywood virtual sets.

Unbelievable thought process by The Boy

  • Allen Iverson

Nobody awaits a music video in 2025. Normal artists just put the pending release upload up on their YouTube so their fans can set the reminder notification. He doesn't even do that.

    The Boy is abnormal

No, but it’s like when you go to an IMAX movie, it’s IMAX because of how you view it in an IMAX theatre, watching IMAX on your TV is not actually IMAX, it’s reformatted to fit whatever way you’re viewing it

    well it depends…

Watching a movie at home that was shot for IMAX means you might get an expanded aspect ratio (like 1.90:1 or even 1.43:1 depending on how it’s released), so it might not be the “IMAX theatre experience” but it’s still cool. Could end up with a tall square looking image for the video.

‘Shot on IMAX’ specifically implies they used actual IMAX cameras - either IMAX film (which gives that super tall 1.43:1 frame) or one of the certified digital setups. So even at home, you’re still getting a super sharp, filmic “IMAX approved” image with more detail and depth than you’d get from a standard digital camera.

So yeah, it’s not the full IMAX theater experience, but imo if it’s IMAX film then it’s not a gimmick, and is incredible… if it’s just one of the IMAX certified digital cameras then meh it should still have a high budget cinematic look.

It will definitely and better have a high quality cinematic look, I just doubt there’s any specific IMAX features in this, only time will tell

    Some other IMAX music videos:

    Adele - Hello
    (actually shot on IMAX film)

Travis Scott - Franchise ft. Young Thug & MIA
(This one was shown in IMAX theatres before Tenet, but I don’t think it was actually shot in IMAX. Just “normal” 35mm film)

    Nolan indeed

@Campari said they were shooting in IMAX couple weeks ago

They used the exact same camera used on The Dark Knight. There’s only like 8/9 legit IMAX cameras in the world. This is as real as it gets.

Thank you for confirming, so it’s the 2nd ever thing to be shot in IMAX 70mm B&W (the other being Oppenheimer!)
