I think the Rap Radar Podcast interview was a way to kill multiple birds with one stone. He probably did it mostly to recap his career over the last 10 years since it was at the end of the decade and to address stuff people might have had questions about since the Scorpion era and even then, the interview had to be done on his terms lol.

It wasn't just that. DMX didn't have a real reason for hating Drake. He just did. Maybe the Aaliyah thing added to it but even back when he was asked, he couldn't give a legit reason why he didn't like him and when he had a change of heart years later, he admitted as much.

you need to look at the context of it. drake is someone who is you know making music where he’s singing or rapping bout his ex who he drunk calling or whatever and x was making songs like where the hood at. both are polar opposites and drake got constant jokes bout being soft etc

DMX hating on Drake made 0 sense and it had nothing to do with the era he came from. Lots of other rappers are from his era and can appreciate Drake as an artist. Glad he had a change of heart before he died but him hating on Drake was unnecessary, especially when he didn't know Drake personally.
