    so here it goes...
    Back in 2009, I used to post my remixes on this very popular forum called Realestniggas.com. the site had everything from pirated movies to leaked album and cracked software. I was getting a decent response for my remixes on there. My friend knew that good at getting my music around online. So he hits me up and tells me his cousin just parked Wayne's car and came up on some cds he had in there. He gets to playing the cds and realizes that it contains unfinished songs. Empty spaces for verses and all. he hits up our other two friends who are rappers and advises them to jump on the songs. then he tells me to put the songs out on Realestniggas.com. I do that and people go crazy for the new Wayne. months later Wayne appears on 106 and talks about The Carter getting pushed because his sessions were stolen. the two songs are Smoking Section and Showtime.

    LOOOOOOOL.When I said cds, I meant that each cd had one record from Wayne from Lil Wayne. I think it was three cds in total. Im not sure. Yeah, they made sure their verses were good next to Waynes

    For some, they were introduced to Drake through Wayne. This was dope, and them two just barring up would be an awesome record. No actual song with concepts and hooks though, save that lol

    For me, as someone who's been a fan of Drake since late 07', I saw the entire thing. I REMEMBER going to Hotnewhiphop to get the OG forever, Stunt Hard, and I can Take Your Girl all with Kidd Kidd. When Drake said the leaks were reminiscent of back then, he was talking about records like these. I remember My Darling Baby leaking and f***ing up the rollout. Hell, I remember when RANSOM dropped. So to see that, all the way to now, where Drake is 'above' Lil Wayne is wild. What a time.

    Whats crazy is that leaks don't get enough credit for pushing Lil Wayne into pop supeom. So much of his momentum in the mid 2000's came from unauthorized leaks lol
