Back in the days when she was in her prime
crodie i miss u
Highly disagree but to each their own lol. Gods plan in my feelings nfw alone were HUGE cultural moments imo. White Taylor swift fans out here championing NLU just like they did NFW lmaoo.
Nah, I'm saying within Black culture. That's the only culture within Hip-Hop that has influence
Hip-Hop is merely just a commodity. A lot of Drake's missteps in this battle is neglecting cultural significance. He didn't MC in the battle at all, and left the window wide open for Kendrick
That doesn't mean it's white friendly
White people jump on bandwagons all the time, then desert it when they don't know what else to do with it
What I'm saying in terms of popularity and effect, NLU trumps every single Drake song in terms of cultural significance
lol

This one of those "lebrons the goat cuz of everything he does off the court" type arguments lol. I'm not gonna comment on that culture talk cuz I can't, but if hip hop is merely a commodity than I can promise you NLU's core consumption group has a VERY low melanin count

Lmaooo
Honestly Nevermind gettin spins all week with the temp rising
I had to replace both my AC units already
I’m in shambles
I think it might be a little good that some people think kendrick 'won'
So kendrick or kendrick's people won’t be mad about some things and think something is bad or think that people think that everything that Kendrick be saying, showing or doing is bad or not true
And so people would probably think or know that everything that drake might say, show or do might not always be good and true
Even though I think drake probably didn’t 'lose' or that some things that he might have said, shown or done might have been 'good' or 'true'
And so kendrick and kendrick's people might still keep believing or thinking some things that might not be 'good' or 'true'
Until someone probably shows them that some things that they are thinking, saying, showing or doing might not be 'good' or 'true'
And I think some people are or were praising Kendrick or think he 'won' or wanted him to 'win'
Probably because some of them think kendrick might be 'black' or 'more', 'mostly' or 'completely' 'black'
And some of them might be black supremacists
lol
I HOPE DRAKE TAKES THIS AS A SIGN TO GET MORE OVO SIGNED ARTIST FEATURES ON HIS ALBUMS NOW

I have no idea where you bringing Bron from
I'm saying what it is from within the culture. If you were to make that promise in earnest I could firmly say that your assumption is wrong. The "core" audience is always the creators

What assumption? The core audience is the consumers lol, that's how business works. If you think the average consumers of this song comports with your definition of the "culture" then more power to you lol. You gonna get real tired of how many white ppl come up to you and say "NLU is a banger right bro?! 🤓" real quick tho lmaoo. Is what is
I don’t think you guys realize how scary this week is shaping up to be, I might call out of the rest of my shifts and lock myself in the storm cellar

Midrick is what some people think they have to champion to not be labeled as "vultures" or not standing on "real hip-hop". Or that hip-hop is "black". Afraid to be called for taking any other stance on this. That Midrick is what stand for hip-hop... when he has done nothing to receive that type support for his moves.
And that Drake stand for everything else that is supposed to not be "hip-hop" or for the culture or "anti-black". White mom, canadian, actor, can sing... and so on.
Ignoring how Drake really studied hip-hop since a very young age. His family line being deep-rooted into music. Drake really played it by the book and has put in an incredible amount of work to get where he is. It wasnt easy in the beginning. It was not easy when they called him too emotional and so on. That was what he was being clowned on once upon a time, but he evolved past that and became bigger than all of them. So many people has not done their history or conveniently ignores it.
If anyone has truly been for the culture and for music... it has been Drake. Putting on so many people and creating so much music. Nobody has done more than him in the past 15 years, while he has always paid homage to everyone and everything before him until he became too powerful for them.
All this backlash or storm against him within the industry and social media... stems from insecurities, jealousy and straight up hate from so many small-minded people. A lot of people are just protecting themselves based on the narrative in the beginning of the post. They are all fools. They not looking at the facts on anything.
Midrick seems to be just another piece of s*** in the end. All this will come back to haunt him with time and thats the beauty of it all. Of life.
