nah i know early on he had to address em all and i loved the second beat of FM, just wish he spent more time on the 1st/3rd beat or released them as separate songs so the kendrick focus could hit more clearly

this the way all the kendrick fans want to see it though, despite multiple big names actually in the industry from managers to artists saying they appreciate that drake helps bring up smaller artists and respect the impact he has had

i remember in one of the beefs before someone used this line as well (was it pusha or meek?) and I sort of believed it, but then I saw all this evidence of artists etc actually thanking drake for it and seeing it more from the perspective of exploring new genres, up and coming artists etc and helping put them on while giving him some new direction creatively, which like, how can you hate that?

How can you hate an artist exploring a new creative direction while also helping out new artists already in that direction and paying respect to that.

This is how I’ve always seen it. Even when drake was just rapping/singing earlier on before he really started experimenting with his sound.

Any one else would be revered for the things he’s done up to this point in terms of putting certain artists on and giving new artists opportunities of a lifetime. I think the problem is people seeing him “act like something he’s not” with the mob ties persona, etc. but that’s what makes Drake so polarizing.. he’s literally so versatile that it’s hurt him in the long run lol..

even his poetry book thing, was just looking at some photos of it and its legit pretty ass, but imagine ye releasing a poetry book with 4 words per page, they'd be like "wow look at the creative restraint he has shown" like they did with the whole 7 tracks per album crap (which his own artist on his label complained about)

not trying to play up some like "everyones against drake and hes never done anything wrong"

but it does show some truth to his frequent raps about being at the top tends to silo you and pit people against you

That's what makes a Drake album so interesting imo. There really is so many different types of songs you can get.

We sorta take it for granted but an album to have a song like Virginia Beach and 8am In Charlotte done by the same artist is absolutely crazy.
