It's corny. He's been crying about the same stuff for over a decade. He's actually regressed in maturity. He's gotten more bitter.

For some reason in all these songs he thinks that buying a woman a car, condo, jewelry, Benz, or an expensive trip is enough for them to "act right"

He then proceeds to cry about how they are with "lames" or "lesser men" or "guys with way less money than him"

Maybe should look at himself and see what's wrong with him, for the same story to keep happening.

How does anyone listen to this and be like yea this is normal for a 37-38 year old man. And I understand, he is not a normal 37-38 year old man. His life is significantly different.

The Rihanna stuff was so lame. Beyond lame.

And it's a character flaw of his, which is fine, if he can acknowledge it and grow from it. Maybe he is?

Would be interesting if he put it in his music.

A huge complaint about Drake is his subject matter is the same thing, rinse and repeat.

How interesting would it be if he was actually truly vulnerable and went into the WHY of his relationship failures, instead of always blaming the woman. He does this in pieces in some of his music and it always is really good. But this would take a lot of self-reflection and really putting aside your ego, which is easier said that done.

Also all these shots at black women (Meg, Rihanna, Esperanza, etc), which was a huge core demographic of his, was never smart. So many of them turned on him, and for good reason. I didn't include Serena because he took shots at her husband and I understand why. But to the overall general public, they aren't going to know that the guy was liking anti-Drake tweets or whatever.

Vulnerable talk about generational trauma between his parents failed marriage and his expectations for himself / living up to those expectations for his son.
