The split on a drake song will be insane even if there was 10 on there. This song done almost 5 milli in a day, they good
That's not how it works. Producers aren't getting 50% splits on a Drake song regardless of who they are unless they're like the top 1% of producers in the game anyway... And how much do you think a million streams pays as it is. 4k per million on spotify before any splits is peanuts.
Clearly you make beats based off your name on here, but the facts are facts. Ain't no money in this s*** in 2023
It's a drake song they all eating regardless
You're assuming that. Streaming doesn't pay, and producers are lucky to even get 50% of whatever total that even gives. That 50% then has to split to the 3295239239 producers every song has involved these days, then to their managers etc. Only a handful of producers are making bank out here, same for artists in general. It's a facade.
I’m all for collaboration, but it really makes me scratch my head and wonder when I see like 5+ different producers credited on something and the end result is a fairly simple trap beat
Yup. The producers we see headlining the credits on these types of songs essentially are glorified placement people. They're the ones with the connections. They get loops etc from other no-name producers and get the majority splits because they have the connects to potentially get a beat placed with, say, a Drake. It's a nasty game.

Yeah they are. Passionfruit producer literally said Drake gave him 50%. Girl sampled on One Dance said she bought a house after the song. Drake not stealing from people

Facts. For example on Jumbotron S*** Poppin Cubeatz are credited but probably had done nothing to the beat, but some of the actual producers are signed to them, so they get credited.

Jumbo has 9 producers credited
Yachty?
We don't know what he actually did for the beat. Producer seniority when it comes to splits is a very real thing.
I know Wesley Curtis who directly worked with BNYX on this. The story is just different that's all i'm saying. Nobody is saying Drake is stealing from anyone. It's just not always a "he gives 50% to every producer" situation. Especially when the song has a million producers who worked on it, in comparison to the Passionfruit example you gave. They're not comparable tbh

Exactly. Any producer we know these days has other unknown producers inked to publishing deals most likely. They're giving them small advances in exchange for their loops and ideas. That's the game these days.

People should start making beats on their own then, but it seems like most cant these days and focus on specific elements in beats. I doubt that Drake cares if the beat is produced by 1 person or 9 people

I agree, and a ton of producers really do it on their own. But they usually don't have any way to get their beats to artists with real traction. The producer industry is gatekept as f***.
There's two other completely unknown Philly beat makers that helped BNYX with his side of the beat that didn't get the Drake tag on IG, etc. They get whatever small percentage they get and that's that, but none of the clout. I've never heard of Sad Pony before this beat, and who knows what the f*** he actually did for the beat if anything. But now he's getting some clout as a result of him getting the tag/follow from Drake. The beat politics aren't Drake's concern and they shouldn't be. It's just a really bad structure for producers trying to get on or for the actually talented ones.

Got it. And yeah seems like a nasty game man. Appreciate the info

SadPony did the entire Yachty album, did a number of Yves Tumor songs, a lot of Charli XCX, and even that 6ix9ine Nicki song
why does the visualizer looks so cheap tho 🥴
DAMN. You gotta get at him for that. If you think so.

Wonder why Drake never did another song with him after Started
