21 Thug Baby Future all have way diff styles. It’s just a lazy critique. Future and Thug have shown for a decade now that they can do any genre/style of music. 21 has a sound unique to only him. So “generic trap sound” just lazy af.

Thats what I'm saying though they all are able to either phone in features and stay in their pocket or they can try new stuff and go outside their comfort zones, I'd prefer they do the latter on an album like this

They would rather have him rapping with some nobody SoundCloud rapper so they could say Drake is stealing a wave. They don't want him collaborating with literal legends while he's alive to do so. I'm convinced they just demand things in hopes that Drake will fail at them, as if he's not the most versatile rapper the genre had ever had.

I wouldn't say that's exactly what that person meant. I can't speak for them but for me personally, I'm always here for Drake working with other rappers, especially those he makes great music with (good music is good music at the end of the day), but sometimes, I wish he'd branch out more. The artists don't have to be pop or R&B singers. If he can meet any artist from any other genre who he has chemisty with, I'd be down to hear what a song like that would sound like. The only real reason anyone even says this about Drake is because frankly, because he's so melodic as an artist, he could do damage on production that's a lot better than just your everyday trap beats that's he's already made 100 songs to. There are rappers who have made great songs to production that's more in line with what you'd see in alternative, sythwave genres and they aren't anywhere near as melodic as Drake is. I'd definitely love to see him explore that at some point, even if it was just on a random project he releases and doesn't tag as an album.

Dawg most of the new talent is derived from guys like thug and future. Drake damn near 20 years in it’s not his job to do that. He already brought what he had to, to the game.

Man there’s plenty of dope fresh blood, just cause y’all listen to the same couple rappers doesn’t mean it’s not true. I’ve never seen fans of an artist so mad that people want to see said artist expand a little and work with different artists.
