I don't know why anyone assumes there's any amount of money in the world that can stop a person from still being human/feelings things any other human would.

No one likes being defamed. It's bad enough when it happens to a person outside of the internet but it's way worse when it happens on the internet because then it can potentially reach millions/billions of people who will assume s*** about you that isn't true. That's very difficult for anyone to deal with and dismissing that as "being weak" is very stupid and you're a f***ing idiot if you ever say that.

Yes, you can ignore s*** but everyone has a limit and that limit is different for everyone. I also initially thought Drake ignoring the nasty s*** people were saying about him was the best move but we're 4 years removed from the Millie Bobby Brown s*** and people are still running with those narratives so it clearly isn't the way to go.
