This b**** delusional as f*** lmao
https://twitter.com/breakfastclubam/status/1706665282872488432stan twitter should not know how this s*** works before actual media personalities do
Still got to have talent which is why I give Drake his props. But if MJ was in this era man he would be a cheat code
Also yeah it’s not Drake fault we live in an era where stats and numbers def help his case. The next generation will have it easier than this one as well
Maybe
Maybe not though. Peoples tastes have changed just as much as the metrics. Whose to say he would be any bigger than The Weeknd in this climate 🤷🏽♂️
Now if people had the same tastes as they did in the 80s and he did the streaming era equivalent to the numbers he did back then he would be untouchable, probably have 100 number 1s
All that is purely speculative though. There are so many forces at work that shift the culture that it’s hard to say whether one artist would be more successful in another era. Drake has the benefit of streaming but MJ had the benefit of monoculture as well as mtv and radio hitting their peaks around the same time.
Everyone listened to the same s*** back then. Watched the same shows etc. There was no internet so most people just consumed what was pushed in their faces, there was a lot less choice than there is now.

I totally agree
nah the latter half still stands. what it took to make a number one record in the 80's is different from what It takes today. you had to have a whole video, roll out and the radio was instrumental to an artist success. now you can just upload a song without having any video or any type of pr or press and that s*** can be number 1 in 2 weeks. with the added factors of more ppl in the world and things like TikTok, spotify/apple playlist and YouTube algorithm it's much easier to get a number 1 if your talented
It’s not as easy as you’re making it seem but the point I’m making is how the undeniable biggest solo artist of all-time only having only 12 number ones is the bigger issue. Shows how the system in place was bullshit back then.
This is my most listened drake single since 2018 God's plan or so. Don't get the hate.
