I think that’s why people make the comparison.. they just think big fame, #1 hits
MJ pioneered art forms, live entertainment, broke barriers etc it’s all well documented
There’s a before MJ and an after MJ landscape in music & Drake as great and famous as he is isn’t doing things like MJ did
So that’s why he can’t be the MJ of this generation
also feel like it's impossible to be as big as MJ even if you tried.
due to the time MJ got big (pre-streaming) also MJ had generations of fans. Fans who know him as a kid, fans who grew up with him and fans like me who knew him in his invincible era.

Mj was before MTV, the cd, the 8track, and almost before color tv was invented
He is a national treasure and legend
None of these artist are on any of the legends level
Different times
Historical monument
Cole being lyrical miracle and drake just being drake kinda works for the song
I wouldn’t want drake to go back and forth with Cole on some boom bap s***
I like the ignorant jumboshit poppin drake just coming in and riding the beat switch
Sicko mode on steroids
Innovative Drake!
I’m old enough to actually know the impact of mj
I don’t think anyone could reach that level ever
Two different era! No one is touching both MJs on impact alone

its definitely impossible, there's 1000x more entertanment options now. you ask 100 random people what entertainment they'v consumed in the last month you'll get an insane amount of answers

Due to the time?
The time was they refused to play his music, put him on covers
MJ wasn't popular because of the times he became popular in spite of them

Definitely was not in spite of the times
Drake spotted shooting his shot while shooting First Person Shooter music video on top of the Scotiabank Arena
Definitely was not in spite of the times
Most definitely was, hindsight just makes it seem like he was just that nigga which he was, but he still had hurdles because of him #1 being a nigga and #2 a lot of people looked at him as being that little boy from the Jackson 5 despite him being the standout in heartbreak hotel and playing opposite of Diana Ross in the wiz (where he met quincy jones). Nigga had a four albums before off the wall and thriller and really wasn't taken seriously until those two albums.

If you aren’t educated don’t speak on it
To say that you just don’t understand what MJ was to the time.
Let Drake just be what he is for this era, he’s still head and shoulders above anyone else currently regardless
Respect
Kid hasn't missed a Drake thread since creating his alt
What’s his main account Batty boy
