TRULY IM BLESSED FROM THE START
jeff bhasker and kanye never missed
truly the best producer he worked with
real
Drake and Trav somewhere seeing who can fit the most dollars in somebody’s BBL lol
OR
hold on hold on so tight
True
To me, Kanye's true creative falloff didn't start until after Donda. He's been mostly artistically bankrupt since then. Bully is fine, but it's lacking the personality and innovation that made his best work what it was. Donda 2 and both Vultures albums are awful.
He f***ed up when he stopped completely diving into a mindset, sound and aesthetic for each project
Which has been every project since and including Pablo except for JIK
I dont agree with acting like he has been dropping straight terrible music for the past 10 years. Some of the unreleased great too. Could he have given it more focus vs all the other bullshit he was doing ? Yes. But there was some good art made throughout Donda, Jesus is King, Pablo, yahndhi and Ye even with the misses of things that didnt land
Terrible? No
Mid? ABSOLUTELY!!!
Trust me, I'm really open-minded when it comes to ideas but virtually 20-30% of the songs he released I would call slightly above average
Gospel music don't count :kevinwd2:
Was just listening to vultures tonight riding round, verses start out so strong like Prime Ye vibes but then he just start talking dat bullshit
TRUE LOVE
Remember when the losers thought thus was something
Biggest concert in US history actually!

I personally prefer an artist makes art to not releasing art even if some think its mid. I personally prefer it to if he had half the output for past 10 to 11 years. Because people can always just not listen. Eventually all these artist will die.

after people saying he should retire and never touch a mic again.

Big part of what f***ed it up for me is the lyrics got too personal after TLOP but at least early on the songs were good enough to ignore it for the most part. By the time he got to Vultures it's 90% just nonsense about his own life that nobody can relate to or see themselves in.

beg forgiveness

back to me
I dont need to relate to what an artist is saying. I am there for storytelling, emotions, feeling , understanding the artist
I dont think a lot of these artist are making relatable music
if its a love song yeah I want to relate but rap ?

how the f*** yall hate on Donda

La…La…La La Wait Till I Get My Money Right…..
vs.
Everybody picking on me/my baby mama playing baby mama games because I chose being fake right wing and #defcon3 as the root of angst and rebellion for the second arc of my career because “Donald Trump doesn’t care about black people” wouldn’t put my back against the wall as the outspoken character i’ve gotten used to being to sell my music, in 2017-2018

There is a 20 year time difference. I want artist to change. I want their stories. Their pain. I want how they feel currently. I do not want artist running in place feeding people nostalgia from people who cant cope with change and reality.
that is me though
I cant name a single artist I love who never challenged themselves or their fanbase their entire career and chased the feels of their beginning who I love . Can you?
Yes I 100% think his off music antics were trash and it affected his music. He mentally wasnt in a right state. Being In LA. Being stalked by papparazzi what he grew to value being a billionaire
we dont have to rehash that every single time. Doesnt change these artist that become billionaires arent relatable to me
Jay Z , Rihanna , Ye we dont continue listening to because 'wow their music is so relatable they just like us"
that logic to me is goofy as people that think they would be besties with Obama

that's the 10%
not Back to Me though that is an absolute dogshit song with some of the worst lyrics Ye has ever spit lol
and I don't mean relatable like yeah he just like me fr I mean relatable like Can't Tell Me Nothing. Songs where he's talking about himself but you can also get in that vibe.
I dont even fathom talking about an artist if I havent conencted with their art for 10 years even if bro had 0 controversies.
If there was a game company, director, writer, any artist where I didnt connect with their work fully for 10-20 years I stop talking and thinking about them because there is so much art i do care about
Adding in the controversies it doesnt even make sense why people still do this cycle of complaining besides thinking they can complain an artist back to make exactly what they want them to make. When they arent the same person you loved 20 years ago . Life changes we accept it
the best artist to me experiment and take risk

The ironic part here is that I agree with everything youre saying but feel Ye went completely against this
He’s been playing this same “character” vaguely since Yeezus and lowkey a lot of the same sonics just more dumbed down to the late 2010’s trends
All of his albums after Yeezus aside from Ye (violent crimes and ghost town are some of his best sonics) and JIK kinda rehash the MBDTF + Yeezus sonics (but add trap drums) and ethos of crazy rich nigga too powerful to be told what to do who can play expensive DJ khaled
As opposed to a truly new perspective/sound/take which is what made CD to MBDTF so good. I know thats Easier said than done for someone who probably had the life he did post adidas deal
The worst parts of Vulture and what made BULLY kinda eh is that he’s just regurgitating 2010’s Ye ethos without the same spirit, energy or attempts at saying anything new
