damn famous people really are obnoxious af
Just to put everything in perspective. Kanye is in year 17 since his debut. Drake is in year 11. When Kanye started 50, Wayne, Nelly, Ludacris etc were at their peak. S*** is f***ing crazy that he’s still even competing culturally, not to mention he has alienated so many people and yet here he is, when he drops, everyone pays attention. Kanye made Fantasy year 6, WTT year 7, Yeezus year 10, and Pablo year 12. I think Donda in year f***ing 17!!! to be this ambitious and interesting is f***ing impressive. Not to mention the fashion and protégés that he’s crafted. Drake is making Views, Scorpion, and CLB During those year 6 to 11 years.
I think drake is talented, but is running out of interesting things to talk about or express in his music since IYRTITL. But I don’t think he cares or approaches music that way. he knows how to tap into pop culture and give the average person a song they’ll love. Kanye is too abrasive at this point to do that. He could make 10 “Believe What I Says” in his sleep but just doesn’t want to. And even in that song he’ll throw in a long sample to make it not as commercially appealing but if you like s*** like that like I do, you love it.
I think this CLB album, was the first time Drake doesn’t have a de facto smash hit in a while. I’m sure there’s a hit in there. But not that momentous one he usually has two of on every album. So it’ll be interesting what he does next.
Both have impressive runs in very different ways. I will always prefer how out there Kanye is willing to go and it just clicks with me.
100% accurate
CLB doesn’t sound like an album that took a 1yr and half to make
Scorpion & More life were more cohesive and organized than this
I hate when drake raps. Drake sings too much. Drake is a pop artist. Drake doesn’t even write his own songs. Drake took an L. Drake didn’t start from the bottom. Drake is finished. I like drake’s older stuff. Drake makes music for girls. Drake thinks he’s Jamaican. Drake is an actor. Drake changed. Anybody else > Drake ….
Yeah yeah we know

CLB has made me appreciate More Life all the more. Not all of ML works, but there are risks and legitimate hits to go along with the misses. His 80+ minute albums used to be justified by huge hits but not CLB.
Thoughtful consistent music tends to feel longer and more filling than fast food music
Told drake don’t play with me on GD

So if I hit you with a “WYD” you better hit me with a “Yes sir, I’m writing everything you need”
LOTP is so f***ing good
Never heard Drake so uninspired and stale like on CLB. Some dude on reddit said it best
“From nothing was the same, to everything was the same”.
F*** me, how the f*** did he go from the fire build up being DLDT and the great singles and unreleased leaks like Vital to this extremely average output..
Super f***ing corny
Not as corny as Drake bringing it back around out of the blue to get some excitement around his name because of how boring his new project is
LOTP soty
Pusha T soon
The surgical winter, cruel winter, soon 🚬🗣💨

From a big Drake fan… yeah this is spot on.
Hopefully the complacency catches up Drake at some point, and he will have to put his head in the game again.
There is no “In My Feelings” or “Gods Plan” saving him on CLB.
