I mean DJ drama did coordinateto try to destroy drakes career with meek after drake slept with his girl

And Kanye, well he’s been pretty open about the nerd ass jock never recovering

    Id be paranoid too

Wouldn’t need to be paranoid if there was nothing to be paranoid about

This thread is a mess, Drake fans are keeping it real when it comes to Donda while Ye stans are trolling when it comes to CLB, there's no way y'all hate it like this. This ain't a competition, just enjoy both wtf.

Why do these streaming services promote drake so much on these playlists. Did Kanye get featured on all these playlists like this or are they cheating ?

    Or are they cheating?

    Cheating at what exactly

they've been doing it for a minute

I'm just saying don't tell me Ye's reinventing the wheel when that would've made more sense when he dropped Jesus Is King.

Laying more of that on me AND censoring my fav rappers ain't the same thing as reinventing yourself.

Donda ain't a bad album tho.

    exactly

this was more of a combination of the last like 6 or so years from kanye than some new s***

Kanye is my favorite artist ever, and Drake is my second favorite rapper ever, so please don’t think my opinions of these albums are biased because I love both of these artists.

I’ve listened to Donda in full at least 6 times by now, and it’s honestly shaping up to be my favorite Kanye album, or at least in my top 3. I still think MBDTF is a 10 and a damn near flawless album, but Donda, even though it definitely is flawed, just has this quality about it that I love so much. It’s long, but I don’t find it to be bloated whatsoever, it feels like Kanye’s version of an epic three hour movie. There are a few tracks I would’ve cut off, and the sequencing is a little questionable in the middle of the record, but it’s nothing too distracting to take away from my overall enjoyment of the album. It’s very consistent sonically and thematically and it has a sound that’s very simple but very specific, and he doesn’t have another project that gives off a similar vibe to this. Kanye gave us some of the best rapping and singing we’ve gotten from him in years, and virtually every feature gave a highlight performance and made their mark. The best words I have to describe this album are: emotional, impactful, and epic.

CLB, on the other hand, I’ve listened to three times now, and while I know it’s still the first day of release, after my third listen it just sounds very lifeless, stagnant, and emotionally empty to me. I don’t really understand what he was going for with this project. I thought it would be hits because of the amount of tracks and big features, but there are barely any memorable hooks / catchy moments of songwriting. So then I thought it was the rapping and lyricism, but there are barely any standout lines on the entire album and the flows all over the project are pretty lackluster. The title of the album combined with the cover art is even more jarring after actually hearing the album, and I just don’t understand why it took 3 years for Drake to deliver this. The feature list is stacked on paper, but their contributions were pretty forgettable and their placements make no sense. Why is Lil Baby on Girls Want Girls? Why is Jay Z on Love All? The decisions surrounding this album just don’t make any sense. The best words I have to describe this album right now are: soulless, redundant, and confusing.

I had high hopes for this s*** too man

Drake rn is running off of name brand and is running on a treadmill, his musical evolution is stagnant af and he shows no interest in trying something new and plays it way too safe, probably as a way to secure high opening week numbers as if the general music consumer actually gives af about that

My current DONDA rating after over 10 full listens is 7.83/10.00

Preliminary rating for CLB after 2 full listens is 8.48/10.00

Need more full listens on CLB and it could go up or down.

But what if we don’t you can’t just say “enjoy” both when someone people genuinely don’t enjoy one album or the other.

I’ve seen several people last night give valid criticisms on both in the clb thread

Sadly most of the criticisms are all all nothing new so it probably sounds like trolling when it really is just the same s***

Drake stans are delusional thinking CLB or Views is experimental

CLB is as experimental as it gets as far as Drake goes. Not really saying much since he doesn’t have any experimental albums
