This generation will for the personal attachment they have from living in the hype era.

Those that didn't witness this era personally won't see him so kindly.

Full disagree. Drake appeals to mainstream sounds. Those sounds will still appeal to generations years from now.

I don't see how you could argue hype and radio plays to the side that Drake will have a strong discography for those who didn't live in this moment

Those songs will always be played. They dont stop being played after a certain time frame. Radio stations still play songs from Take Care & NWTS.

A whole ass generation of kids grew up on his music and that music has lasted for around a decade, just as legends from previous gens like MJ and Stevie. It doesn't matter how you view his music, to say it won't stand the test of time is ludicrous and his music has been around long enough to gage whether it will or not. And the answer is:

    It will.

Pure conjecture and wishful thinking from OP.

Drake's songs are played everywhere and they resonate with millions. Only a fraction of music listeners care about the classic classification. When looking back on their youth, you think people will remember that time Fantano gave Kendrick a 10, or the memories they made to Drake's songs?

This has absolutely nothing to do with the OP did you even read it.

OP has nothing to do with what this generation will think of him looking back

When rap goes out of style Drake will be in every conversation about the genre. Legacy wise he's top 3

  • Nov 9, 2019

Everyone responding talking about how people from this gen will still play his music COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT OF THE THREAD 😂

The crux of your point is whether Drake's music will last. 19/20 year olds are already nostalgic about music he made 3 years ago, you don't think that's gonna be a factor, not only for them, but for how they influence the future generations?

Your entire point is that Drake isn't good, besides that you have no evidence that shows Drake will not last

Legacy is all that matters. Was Elvis's music that good? nah. Is he considered one of the "greatest" of his genre and one of the biggest artists ever? Yes.

OP is looking at cross-generational appeal in a vacuum but it factually doesn't work that way. Drake's vast and everlasting appeal to the current gen will cross over to the next gen.

None and that's not my point. Me and you are both generations after him and know who he is. That's the point
