Nostalgia is what keeps artists in people's conscience over time. It'll also improve his legacy I PROMISE.

You see all these kids today obsessed with the 80s or Friends or something like that? They didn't even live in that time period, but the extreme nostalgia associated with those things has brought them in.

Exactly. This s*** doesn't exist in a vacuum

You cant name 3 rappers with more quotables, classic records, hits, memorable verses, and popular songs this decade.

Saying someone is better as a rapper implies technical skill. Popular songs have nothing to do with this

Not even top 15 this decade

well maybe if you like logic and freddie gibbs, i'm sure you would think this. But sadly, your minority opinion is not warranted

on everything that contributes to an artists career. Success, skill, impact, longevity, memorable records.

Drake fits the criteria better than anyone. Drake has more classic verses this decade than any of his peers.

Drake don't got more quotables den Kodak

What exactly is your main point OP?

For those who look back on a time period of music they didn't live in

THE MUSIC IS WHAT MATTERS not how many radio plays or IG captions they inspired.

  • papawheely

You could use this logic on literally any top artist ever

    This lol

who cares? yall get so wrapped up in the perception of others on artists you like. you don't need validation from others to like something. it's so f***ing stupid and a significant character flaw that suggests lack of self esteem.

B**** I listen to ab Soul not Kendrick lamar

It’s a great marker. Go look at any Michael Jackson song on Youtube and read the comments. People who weren’t even alive to witness him, people born in the 2000s, everybody from every walk of life saying they miss him lol.

Drake has more slaps than the beatles. He’s gonna be remembered

My point is it's laughable to say Drake, the most quotable rapper this decade and easily one of the 3 most quotable rappers ever is less quotable than Kendrick when he has less quotables than Nas and Em

the music is what matters that includes hit songs and legacy. The average person doesn't care how many classic albums he has or if he has one as good as GKMC or w/e

    FAN

I think his legacy will sorta be like Akon's tbh but it really depends on if he's gonna quit anytime soon or continue killing the charts
If Drake is still making music in his 40's I doubt he's gonna be forgotten but I doubt he'll still be making music in his 40's? I don't wanna believe that he's gonna be out here in his 40's singing and rapping about the same s***, hopefully he switches it up

He'll probably be forgotten Rap wise because he doesn't have a rap album or even a song that people look at as legendary, most of his impact is pop wise and pop fans are usually stupid and always on to the next phase, yeah he has some good rap songs that might be up there but when I say legendary I'm talking Stan/Sing About Me/Jesus Walks/Song Cry level
Drake's best rap songs are almost all loosies or just songs in his albums that I don't think have much replay value for people

you put "song cry" with those other songs LoL
