Obviously the label submitted without consulting him. They do this all the time. Labels submit nominations.
Kanye PEED on a Grammy and was submitted the next ceremony. No matter how much mainstream artists express disapproval they always end up being submitted anyways because labels are in charge of submissions.
He probably did ask them not to submit his music and they still did so regardless (like they have in the past when artists clearly didn’t give a s*** about the show). Thus he took it into his hands and personally made them retract the nomination
This makes the most sense.
