We literally getting a PND Drake album I’ve been wanting for 10 years man. I wouldn’t care whether this s*** sold a million or a thousand first week.
AINT WORRY BOUT MY PRIIIIIIIIIDE
I RATHER GET IT RIIIIIIIIIGHTTTTTT
THAN WRONGGGG TONIGHTTTTT
he owes umg an album, you think they're going to let it be a collab that has the potential to under perform? nah they wanna milk him, doesnt matter if its drake or kendrick theres no chance they let the last album on a contract be a last minute collab while on tour
sony will drive this because they'll make more off it being a PND credited release, they want the success and, this part is just my thoughts with no real basis, but it may also be a thing where they can show drake what it would look like if he went to them (given his contract is coming up)
idk, all speculation tho, im here for the music either way
This is why it doesn't make sense to me:
There's already a precedent set with Drake releasing collab albums and having them count towards his tally for his current record deal.
Drake has signed/resigned with Republic/UMG 4 times now. The first time was in 2009 for 2 albums (TML/TC), the second was in 2013 for 3 albums (NWTS/IYRTITL/WATTBA), the third was in the summer of 2015 before his deal was up and that was for 4 albums (Views, More Life and then he convinced them to count Scorpion as 2 albums). The fourth time was for his current deal, for which he has fully recouped the money they gave him and he has also released a collab album (Her Loss) that counted towards his tally so it's something he should be able to take to court and argue he should be able to drop a collab album and have it count. The precedent is already there, so UMG can't make an argument for a collab album not performing well when his two collab albums debuted with 375k and 404k units respectively.
I'm saying this because dropping the album via OVO Sound/Sony as a PARTYNEXTDOOR album featuring Drake is a dumb move. It'll perform way worse than it was originally gonna perform and it won't have nearly the same reach as it would have dropping as a Drake & PARTYNEXTDOOR album.
Also, why would Drake make a move like that knowing he'd still owe UMG an album? I also don't see him giving UMG the solo album he announced on stage as his "one-on-one talk with fans that they need to hear." That sounds to me like he'll be spilling the tea on all the s*** he's gone through with UMG. Why would he want an album like that dropping on UMG and why not just drop this collab album as his final album and be done with them completely?
I don't know. There are definitely already signs that what Akademiks is saying might be true but that'd be a dumb move on Drake's part, any which way I look at it. Maybe there's other moving parts that I don't see that make it make sense but from what we know, it wouldn't be a smart move.
So crazy to me how yall ain’t even fans of the music, it’s just about the numbers for some of yall
Shut up.
How is it going to perform terribly if it’s dropping on a completely different label? You don’t think Sony will push this? Idgi
PARTY's last album dropped on Sony. What did it do?
Nah he’s been legit since the ktt1 one days. Unlike @Real (kicked from gc), THG still plugged in
I know he has connections with certain people who know things about Drake's releases but I don't see him as the supreme source y'all see him as. Whatever "info" he provides about Drake releases is always sparse and abstract so if it turns out to be true, y'all praise him as an insider and if it doesn't turn out to be true, he can just come here and say something like "things are moving around and things got changed."
I knew about DLDT 2 weeks before it arrived and heard rumblings about a Drake/21 Savage project about 5 days before Drake announced it. It's not because I'm an insider. I just know someone who knows a bunch of producers and one of them spilled stuff to him about something they had worked on and that person told me what was going on because we're both huge Drake fans.
Not saying that's the Holy Ghost dude but I'm just saying, I don't care for anyone moving as an insider or someone in the know because at the end of the day, nothing is final until Drake says so.

It’s weird to specifically be celebrating success of a song that calls Drake a pedophile and his fans hoes and then go try to have camaraderie with those same fans and discuss Drake’s music in a positive light. Idk man, just makes you look fake as f***
It's music man people can enjoy them both as i do n a ton of others do gatekeeping fandom is lame touch grass respectfully

TALK $$$
I’m a fake fan when I’ve seen Drake 5 times in concert over the last decade?
Owning the catalog on vinyl? Making compilations and putting on radio shows for this section on numerous occasions over the years?
All to be thrown away for what? Because I’m not loyal enough to Drake because I like another artist?
It’s not one side or the other uce. To go at people because they aren’t ride or die for someone they haven’t met and will never meet? Childish if you ask me.
Hell if you ask me, stan culture is probably one of the worst things to happen to music. Especially on this site. I can’t go on and talk about how much I like a Kendrick album because then half of the Drake section will come at me. Same anytime I express my liking for a song such as Ratchet Happy Birthday there will be people who come at me and say your taste is ass or whatever.
I look at movies and TV the same way. If someone liked The Idol for example, I’m not gonna go at them for it. The Idol is a bad TV show but I’m not gonna ridicule someone over an opinion.
If you’re really that bothered over me casually talking about an album I am very excited for, the block button is on my profile. Have a good night.
You always good bro

Real. As someone who enjoys most artists involved in all this s***, we won just off all the content we got alone. Stan wars made discussing anything insufferable.
PARTY's last album dropped on Sony. What did it do?
Lmao but this literally has Drake attached fully. Completely different story lol

Did Drake just take a shot at LeBron?! 👀🔥 Fans are losing it after Drake switched up his lyrics, seemingly dissing the NBA superstar amid their rumored beef. 🎤🏀 The rap game and basketball world are both buzzing—was this a direct hit or just a coincidence? jiggatv.com/video/590
Unless yall have the contract in front of you you not going to know the nuances and intricacies of the deal and what's plausible versus impossible when it comes to drakes releases. There are always parts you are not gonna be privy to if you are not privy to the contract. Without knowing the actual deal points versus someone who is a party to that contract, no one has the ability to know what actions are explicitly feasible. Need to know what's written and more importantly what is not written in the contract itself...
TLDR- lemme get that contract and peep if yall a***yzing this much 👁️👄👁️ lmaoo
