I would posit that one of the big reasons Ebro, and hip hop media hates is because;

1) He doesn't entertain them, doesn't do interviews or press or promo for anything and hasn't since 2014-2015. His legacy is unmatched, and his closest peer (he's top 2 and he's not 2) is Jay and he had the advantage of his career existing outside of the current social media landscape. Media has changed a lot since hip hop started. Drake doesn't surround himself with PR pros from what I can tell (he'd rather give that 15% to people he f***s with) and thus when he's putting out music, he's relying on the label (Republic/UMG) to promote, but he's not their artist to parade around on the Drew Barrymore show or sit down with Oprah. He's literally doing it without the backing of music industry machine. He's not independent but he's been moving like an independent artist for many years now, with now the Santa Anna deal likely helping with some things, but they aren't treating him like he needs legacy media or the legacy music industry. This scares the s*** out of not just legacy media, but the legacy music industry. OVO knows that fans are going to get the info they want, how they want, and don't need these traditional media tactics to do it. Now, where Drake needs to be careful, is the fact that in order to grow his brand is everything. This UMG lawsuit is about gaining leverage not just against a music giant, but against a cultural narrative. The s***ty thing is that because he's said f*** the media, f*** the industry for so long, you got Duolingo jumping in to make a fun meme, not recognizing the bigger picture. It's the equivalent of a brand being run by Gen-Z thinking this is all fun and jokes, not realizing that meme culture will ruin someones life.

When Push Ups first leaked I thought it was AI only because I did not think Drake was dumb enough to mention the girl of the guy he is beefing with AGAIN.

He'd only be playing himself and reaffirming his obsession with Drake and using Drake's name for clout — something he's especially being accused of doing with his halftime show performance.

To add to that, his album is already projected to go back to #1, his entire catalog is getting a massive boost in streams this week. People are waiting to hear from Drake now after everything being about Kendrick for the past year.
