To be fair there were people in the HUT thread saying it would be too long when the tracklist dropped.

But also, that’s Weeknd’s only project above 18 tracks so it’s not that bad.

I think people are tired from it from Drake because the consensus (not 100% of people, but the general consensus) is that he’s been dropping bloated 20+ song projects since 2016 that feel uneven and could use some trimming. So that’s why it’s always a talking point when he reveals another tracklist to yet again be above 20 tracks

Maybe the point is that there used to be a general consensus that Drake didn’t have ANY filler in his discog at all (aside from the occasional album song like Make Me Proud, loosie like Right Hand)

When one maintains such an impeccable discography for ~ 8 years of their career, everything below that standard sticks out

And post-2018 it seems like ppl tend to agree that there is some degree of bloating on the albums, whether they agree on what songs = filler or not

for sure, one of my biggest frustrations in his career was some of his song choices decisions, like:

• Removing Mention Me (way better than Fountais)
• Removing the OG outro for Lotta 42/Need Me and adding that random ass Hov verse
• Removing Lie To Me from the album (imagine it replacing In The Bible)
• Neatly should definitely been on the album (10/10)
• Solid shoulda been on the album (10/10)
• TSU shoulda had the N Sync intro instead of the one we got, coulda cut off the 2nd part and promote it as a single
• Removing that "Secrets" unreleased record (100Gigs)
• The singles were kinda whatever tbh, LNCL coulda been on the cut
