This has been a criticism for me for a while for Drake.

Look, I get it sonically, but songwriting wise, this is why you have bridges and codas. He used to make proper use of those elements, but now I can anticipate Hook, verse, hook…Beat switch.

I can’t say a “weak” criticism when he has written full songs with deserved beat switches for a decade before.
