Look, I get it sonically, but songwriting wise, this is why you have bridges and codas. He used to make proper use of those elements, but now I can anticipate Hook, verse, hook…Beat switch.
I can’t say a “weak” criticism when he has written full songs with deserved beat switches for a decade before.
I agree. A ton of artists have been abusing beat switches this decade. Bring back song progressions and stop forced beat switches
