I ain’t gonna lie this album just fine
Every review is going to have to mention the beef because that context is extremely important
That said, I really do wonder what the ideal Drake album sounds like to people like this
What, for Drake, is the “right answer” to everything that’s happened last year? What would satisfy people
I want a rock blink 182 inspired album from Drake
I’ll give him props to trying to but that is some radio friendly industry plant type bait
Die trying is so bad though. Legit ruined my workout. And ruined my day. That’s some target / Walmart ass song
Royalty free ass instrumental
First listen, on Deeper atm. So far this sounds like it’s for habitual single people who say they want a relationship but never put the actual work in for it.

I hear that s*** outside at a gas station pumping my gas
We’ll see 🤷🏾♂️
We shall. Think he's out of his commercial prime tbh, and if he's going to get like a classic hit, or hits off, it won't be from a collab album tbh.

It's not bait, it's his skillset. He's just that good ngl.

It’s not good is what I’m saying. It’s ass. Leave that in the hard drive and give it to some young kid coming up. Song is almost disrespectful to the rest of his discog

lmfao
Next drake solo album guaranteed to be a classic btw last time we got if you’re reading this, wattba, and then views, here we get FATD, $$$, then a classic

So the two people that made it. Okay great observation
Huge drake fan since Room for Improvement and this is pretty interesting.
It's not that he can't make hits anymore, it's just that they come and go. No sticking power.
Like, in the grand scheme of things unfortunately, no one as of right now is gonna remember anything post 2020 basically which sucks because IMO his best work has mostly come in the past few years.
Nevertheless, his skillset suggest that he still can get one off if he commits to the bit. This album was a step in the right direction.
I just don’t think he’s trying as hard. That’s not even a slight or anything, I just think his older music is way more polished, way more produced… way more intentional lyrically, too.
You think of a song like Live Now Cry Later or God’s Plan or One Dance or Nice for What… these are incredibly commercial songs.
The Drake ethos to me feels a lot more like the More Life record now… just kinda catching a wave of whatever is inspiring him at the time and acting on it. (which is great for me personally cuz I love More Life.)
