Huge drake fan since Room for Improvement and this is pretty interesting.
It's not that he can't make hits anymore, it's just that they come and go. No sticking power.
Like, in the grand scheme of things unfortunately, no one as of right now is gonna remember anything post 2020 basically which sucks because IMO his best work has mostly come in the past few years.
Nevertheless, his skillset suggest that he still can get one off if he commits to the bit. This album was a step in the right direction.
He dropped 2 classics in 2022
Don’t really wanna go into a beef argument but it’s kinda funny how many Kendrick fans I see in here actually giving props and talking about the music vs how many Drake fans I saw acting like GNX was the worst music ever made on here
I love that i love both artists and can appreciate both beef or no beef online and offline that s*** is underrated now days it seems
He really improved a lot on his technical ability fs, I think he’s the best he’s ever been
He making Party look like an amateur on a lot of these songs especially Lasers
He's in a completely different class vocally from PND and honestly outclassed him on this.
I'm glazing but he's taken a really nice late career leap w/his R&B over the last few years.
Same thing with the raps. Songs like Stories About My Brother, and Red Button are insane.
But despite his IMO obvious improvements, he'd rather make rich flex than make big pop records like he used to.
Yes
u liking this?

Her Loss and FATD are in my top 5 I'm referring to the general consensus.
In a vacuum I do agree that he simply doesn't try anymore when it comes to those kinds of records.
I refer to it as running from his destiny.
He was a very polished artist in that regard early on, with the lead melody singles like Hold On, Nice for What, One Dance, Take Care w/Rihanna, he just decided eventually that he didn't care for that and got braids, went baggy, and ran from that side of the business.
I personally have no qualms with it, but it does suck that he runs from making the generic pop record, because he's so good at it.
Yeah his career arc has been interesting for sure.
I think there's a psychological aspect to being the biggest artist alive for such a long period of time that really only Drake can be used as an example for
Idk
Gonna be interesting to look back at this period of his career, too.

Drake fan classics or widely regarded classics?

we dont like that gobble up s*** man how is that hard to understand

It’s hard tho
cant believe they wasted the last 3 min of the album on just the beat

Gonna be honest I think my biggest issue with the collab songs on this project is that I feel like he’s meeting Party where he’s at instead of truly spreading his wings on the R&B side
He performed well enough but it feels like one of the easiest albums he’s ever had to make
So petty and corny not stickying this
@ feature not even working so we can’t call out mods or S for it lmfaaooo
Anyways
This album is good. It kinda reminds me of FATD sonically and feels like a few of these songs might've been FATD leftovers but FATD has aged very well for me personally so not mad at it at all

Again I'm glazing but all the songs that they're on together on this would sound better if PND wasn't even on them.
Nah she a real fan @mjpplus
