As far as I can tell timeless mostly took off cause of carti and the singles haven’t gone crazy, plus the delay and the fires and the cancelled concert have taken some shine off the project, plus the idol flopping. I feel like The Weeknd may do a lot less than I’d expect. But then again Drake probably will too
i mean kendrick only did 300k despite having the entire industry and media complex boosting him

There’s actually a very big reason. Dawn FM didn’t have any physicals that counted towards its’ first week, so its’ first week total was comprised of mostly streaming units only.
The streaming first week for Dawn was very consistent with the streaming first week for all of his other albums released since the streaming era began:
Starboy - 139K first week streaming units
My Dear Melancholy, - 101K first week streaming units
After Hours - 169K first week streaming units
Dawn FM - 134K first week streaming unitsIf Dawn FM had physicals upon release, it would’ve cleared 250K+ first week and blew DS4Ever out of the water.
Pop albums rarely have crazy high streaming first weeks, save for the Taylors of the world. It’s a genre that is reliant upon and dominant through pure sales.
Hurry Up Tomorrow will have a similar first week streaming total of 120-160K, but it has physicals this time around so the overall number will be at least 250K+ first week.
