I didn't make those posts
You replied numerous times to drake praise posts arguing for mj fader
I dont like alot of them #1s either but drake is the most popular rapper thats just a fact

Incorrect. I was responding to someone calling MJ's numbers fraudulent. I didn't discredit any of Drake's #1s ITT
Incorrect
You made this thread to set up Drake lol you’re not sneaky my guy. The least you could do is own up to the bait. Have some f***ing shame lmao

Still wrong
Has nothing to do with Drake specifically
Most people do not listen to music on vinyl. If YOU know that you've listened to beat it on vinyl 200 times then more power to you. You aren't the subject of the cognitive dissonance I'm talking about
I'm specifically talking about the people who KNOW. THEY KNOW they listen to one artist WAY MORE than another yet they still choose to act like they prefer another artists music. Or act like this album they barely listen to is better than that album they play a lot.
Just making people reflect on what they say. Challenge them to ask the tough questions.
I used to be a lame teenager too, acting like this dusty artist was my favorite, this boring ass album was a classic. This and that. I just wanted it to look like I knew what I was talking about. I didn't want people to dismiss my opinion because I rarely listened to some "classic" album. But my listening habits painted a different picture and I knew that in my heart. I just didn't want to say it out loud.
Now I'm grown and comfortable. I don't give a s*** about narratives, what other people think, I have no shame in telling people what I ACTUALLY listen to and actually like to listen to. I hope we can reach a point where most people are like that because right now we just aren't. You and I both know that.
but how do you know that if the song was so impactful and sold in 7inch and 12inch vinyl format? how do you know people aren’t just flipping the vinyl over between that song and its B-side or simply starting it over all day as their favorite song and you can’t see the 200 play count?
nice essay, I’m assuming it’s all based in assumptions again
edit: just glanced at a sentence. minimizing MJ to dusty old artist you can pretend to look like you listen to is beyond hilarious. why you this triggered?

Nicelikechrist bait in 2026 brother
my question is who tf was getting mj outta there after a week?
music was diffy back then you got don't stop at 1 for only a week??
wild..
The top 10 superstars in the 70s-80s would all be dropped into this era and be like Wembanyama level in comparison, but doubled
Even a Kate Bush, who certainly wasn’t out here throwing it back for sales. Even someone like that is crushing these artists
Running Up That Hill was the song of the summer and it had came out 40 years prior
It’s always incredible to see how much better the hits were back then, and to see that bore out the second any form of medium exposes our current landscape to those hits

ehhhh nah lol
Like I said. Explain it to me then. Why would someone listen to a song much more than a different song they say they like more?
If someone has listened to one dance 200 times and beat it 50 times....they just like one dance more. And there's nothing wrong with that.
No mental gymnastics necessary.
Same way you can not have seen Ali fight or Jordan play live but you can see the full fight/games or clips on YouTube and come to the conclusion that he's the GOAT. Not like you're going to be watching more old games/fights over new games/fights lol
I dont like alot of them #1s either but drake is the most popular rapper thats just a fact
Streaming era, sure. But its funny how his best music was released pre streaming and he had zero #1 solo hits and only 1 Rihanna ft in total. Really puts his streaming dominance into perspective

100% Kate da goat no cap

You really lack reading comprehension my young brother.
This MJ s*** is just a starter ramp to a much larger discussion. Nobody is calling MJ boring or dusty. I love MJ’s music. I love it. But I am comfortable enough to openly say that I listen to Drakes music more. So I will take drakes music over his any day of the week. Simple as that.
You and I both know for a fact there are droves of people who listen to Drake more by choice but will come itt or online and say they are tossing Drake out the window.
It doesn’t even have to be these two particular artists. They can be swapped with whoever. What I’m getting at is the cognitive dissonance between actual listening habits and what people say online.
MJ obviously had better records since every1 listens to them, but for some reason that doesn't apply in rap. like drake kanye eminem etc are objectively the standard for greatness in rap if that's the case since they transcend global reach. drake and eminem mainly too.
Anyway, i listen to drake more. dont care for mjs music like that outside a social setting. mjs music is better but i prefer drakes
