Might be seeing this tonight as the Secret Movie/Screen Unseen.

A movie that feels like a product of market research and KPop Demon Hunter dream boards. Another Spider-verse / Puss in Boots patch update that presents itself as something aesthetically fresh, but uses that as a shield to overcompensate for the absence of a compelling story. It's not quirky, it's not cool, it's not emotional. It's a larp. Some chuckles, more groans. Generic and soulless.

I'm sure people will enjoy it.

just got back from my showing.

I had high expectations for this film, as it was developed by the same team who gave us Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which is one of the best animated films of the decade. this was a great follow-up, with gorgeous animation (loved the different styles used throughout the film), an excellent soundtrack, and a heartwarming story about friendship and making memories with the ones you love. I hope the animators at DreamWorks continue to give us original stories told in these unique and creative ways.

insane combo of a kids movie and a movie about catching predators where they make it a joke

Hey man I didn't know it was a cultural milestone. I just think modern animation looks ugly as hell
