Disclaimer: Long time lurker of Drake KTT1, and despite some quick phases, Drake has always been my favorite artist and rock I OVO. I’m not trying to just hate haha

I don’t know. Possibly like yourself, I’m a huge Drizzy fan, and I have been since take care dropped. With all the headlines including the ones that are being concocted and perpetuated, I feel like the culture, at least the toxic culture on social media, is growing tired of him and has low key seen enough. Not that people hating on and doubting drake is new, the man has been breaking records and ignoring critics his entire career, but right now I feel like he needs to make a move not to necessarily switch up the narrative surrounding him, but to more importantly re-gain some of the excitement and buzz that has always accompanied his releases and album drops. Drake has always had haters, some who’ve been justified and some that are just salt, but I recently really have felt like his buzz has been waning. His dedicated fan base is there(look at this forum), and he will always get streams with his mainstream hits. But the energy and hype that Drizzy cultivated with the buildup for views feels like a completely different era. He has obviously been in the news since well before scorpion dropped, but since the album, he has not garnered even close to the same kind of hype musically; regardless of his impressive streaming numbers. Despite the lack of a truly in-depth response to the events that were surrounding him, I really liked what Drake was trying to do with Scorpion. However, despite the fact that I enjoy Mob Ties & Jaded as much as the next guy, it is kinnnddda hard to dissociative the album as a whole with the Pusha beef, Sophie B’s less than artisan history, and the overall negative narratives surrounding him at the time. He just didn’t respond to any of it concretely. You add to that to that: unsubstantiated but perpetuated pedo allegations, limited IG comments, and the wack LeBron barber shop interview... He should be feeling like he needs to come out and prove something imo. Despite having every excuse in the world being given to him about the booing incident, that was kind of startling to see and I’m not sure that would have happened a few years ago regardless of the crowd... I know drake is smart and has a smart team around him, and I realize that he’s trying to create anticipation for the next release, but given the replay value/relative quality and originality of some his more recent releases, I hope for my selfish musical enjoyment and for the sake of drakes own career that he can genuinely connect to his fans and bring some inspiration and new energy to his next release, whenever that may be.

I know that was a lot haha
Thoughts? Or he still firmly on top and secure

I was agreeing with you until about halfway when you started talking about the raptors then you just lost me.

so first...I dont see what Pusha, his BM, and son have to do with your topic of relevancy..so not sure why you mentioned.

second, nike/Adidas opportunities are never missed. If anything hes waiting to drop his collab for when hes gonna drop the album (think 2015- WATTBA, IYRTITL, Jordan 10 OVO)

all in all, he just needs a solid feature run, couple interviews, and most importantly a new movement and hes good to go.

by new movement, think "take care" think "more life" think
"views" "nothing was the same". A good NEW fresh theme with the album will do wonders.

This is a common thought when Drake gets as quiet as he is now. He always manages to come back bigger, though. I’m sure he’s going to go off 2020.

I get you man, I just was trying to convey that the public opinion of Drake in 2019 has definitely shifted from the untouchable guy who was popping off in 2016. I know that can’t be sustained but idk man. I get y the raptors s*** might not seem relevant but a lot of non fans didn’t take him seriously and we’re just annoyed by it which even though I wasn’t really, I understand. Also I just realize it’s hard to stay at the top in rap when the tide starts turning the other way and even when drake was memed in the come up, it was more harmless given what we were meaming him for... like the drizzy hands😂

  • Dec 13, 2019

There's nothing in your OP that actually backs up the idea that Drake is losing relevancy

I feel like hardcore Drake fans are underestimating the current hate with this “pedo” situation.

Like yeah Drake has bounced back from things but we can’t be for certain he’s gonna bounce back from the underage girls episode. In this current climate people aren’t playing with that. This is why I say Drake need to speak on that. People can keep acting like this isn’t a big deal if they want. Its getting so bad, they even “exposed” Drake for following an underage entertainer on IG.

Pr to combat memes, y'all f***ing losers really think too highly of yourself. Anybody can make a meme about anything, nothing new compared to blogs years ago or s***ty ig "news" pages now. Drake is doing just fine and will continue to get bigger

I was thinking the same but it’s tough bro. Unless he’s like clean of doing anything really shady, talking might just bring it more attention and give it more steam. He always stays quiet on these things I feel

Nobody gives a f*** about most of this besides Twitter niggas and hip-hop nerds (which KTT is).

The truth is that the world will gloss over this as they do with most issues, and Drake will be fine. He just needs proper promo because jfc there was garbage promo for Scorpion.

I mean but once people get on you for even following underage girls, I feel it’s already out of control. He’s better off speaking on it and getting ahead of it than letting the public control the narrative.

There’s a lot that he can say, people on here already said the 13 year old said he’s not even like that and she felt a way about how people are twisting things. He could literally piggyback off that. I know him and his team are aware of all the talk. He spoke about the writing incident, and the Pusha t aftermath. This is 100 times more serious than both combined cause even if he’s not doing dirt, as long as it look creepy, people will assume the worst and that could be career damaging. I just don’t think people should take this lightly. People are already using the P word ffs.

    Awful idea.

The people who run with the narrative have already made up their mind. Most of them are the usual anti-drake niggas who just itching to jump on ANYthing anti-Drake like the people you see in music sxn. Or there's the group that are just in it for the memes/cancel culture witch hunt cause we all love to see a celebrity fall these days.

Notice how niggas still be making jokes about Drake son/him being a deadbeat despite there never being any proof of it. That right there shows how niggas don't actually care about it, just enjoy the narrative.

Drake speaking on this would literally be the dumbest thing he's ever done, because why use your platform to entertain bullshit?
