I mean i agree but tbf Gucci and wayne was at there mainstream PEAK at the same time as cudi
Rocky’s music also hardly sounds like cudi and only came out 2 years after cudi blew up so i got no shame considering them the same era
I didn’t say Rocky and Cudi weren’t the same era, but rocky not more influential than Cudi and Rocky is a good example of cudi’s influence
Brent Faiyaz is one feat with Drake away from supe om

Facts, on and off the mic. Trillmatic still one of there best songs till this day tbh
What do u think artist should do to keep it going
They should study what The Weeknd did with After Hours
But basically, they should have a “good” singles run before the album drops, and also one afterwards
Obviously good is subjective but I think they need to do things either irl or digitally that allows fan-artist interaction &/or fan-fan synergy/interaction but hosted by the artist (an example of the last thing I just said is actually this thread. OP would be the “artist”, this thread idea would be the thread that brings us all together as “fans” and interact with each other. But it’s OPs thread so he technically hosted it. KTT would be the platform but in an artist sense they can use Instagram, YouTube, etc. an actual irl example with an artist would be when Kanye did those Sunday Service things although he didn’t use it as part of his album promo/rollout but it kept us fans on KTT steadily consuming that content, some ppl actually going irl and if there were an album dropped in the midst of that instead of being pushed back like JIK was then it would’ve lasted longer than albums nowadays)
This is a good video to watch on the subject if you care about album rollouts/life cycles

How do you know he didn’t influence his music? I take influence from s*** all the time that doesn’t mean Im gonna copy it, rocky literally said kid cudi inspired him u gonna tell him that he didn’t
i outta beat you until youre leaking blood begging for mercy hard headed lil f*** boy

you dont gotta sound like a rapper to be influenced by them.
Most of the time we stan an artist not necessarily for the music quality but we associate their music to a certain time of our lives
I stan who I stan because their stuff is the perfect middle ground between say mainstream appeal and traditional style
The people who are earnestly fans and just enjoy what artists put out are pretty innocent in stan culture, its often the people who don't like everything an artist puts out but are such mega stans they still defend them like their lives depend on it are the real weirdos
